Okay, so I just got hooked up with an old as pair of Salomon 1080 spaceframes... from circa 2002 or 2003.. whichever one... anyways, I got a pair of Salomon s712 bindings with them... I cannot seem to find anything about these bindings anywhere exept for about 2 findings on Ebay... and each say different things about them for the most part, but both say intermediate to advanced bindings...
Now, I'm just going to use these skis to fuck around on, so it doesnt matter, but anyone else have these bindings? or know someone with them? and have any Idea how good they are?
I know they arent like the 912's.. which is the next step up I assume... but they still have the spheric technology (which allows for the wings to pivot in all directions.) and they do have a decent din setting...
Iono.. I'm going to mount them anyway.. just seeing if anyone has a clue as to what these bindings are like...
And please.. dont just give me stupid comments like "they suck" or.. "waste of time, dont use them" or something lame like that with no logical info to back up the claim...
Eh.. whatever.. figure Ill just try to get info from someone smart/bored...

well basicly its a beginner lightweight all plastic binding. they do have a very high tendency to break or have toe wings to come loose....its is down there for "low end" bindings however i dont know much about you so it coule be perfect!

well i didnt do any research but this is what i have to say. the s712s are shitier then the s812s which are shitier then the s912s which are already pretty shity. so basically you have really shity bindings.

This is true. If i were you once they get mounted, i would lock-tite the shit out of the toe wings, the big center toe adjustment (height), and anything else that can come loose. Also, put the din up AS HIGH AS IT WILL GO, no matter how big you are!

They're a terrible bindings. I had them back when I got my first pair of 1080's and I weighed 100 pounds, and pre-released all the time.
I suggest throwing them up on eBay and making some cash, or mounting them on your backyard ONLY ski.

You'd be better off trying to sell them for $25 than to drill holes into your skis and mount them. Check ebay, here, TGR, SAC or craigslist for some other bindings.

yup. i had them too. throw them away or sell them. HORRIBLE pre release problems. i had them cranked all the way up, and pumping the bottom of a drop in ramp they would frequently pop off and leave me on my ass, me being 140ish with a large boot on 12. pure garbage. not even worth as an urban binder.

Well.. since they are my backyard only ski, this sounds about right...
I really dont care about them.. I'm just using the skis for backup skis.. my scratches with axial 110's are a far better setup...
but yeah... i already figured they were shitty.. since I got them for free...
