Well, the story begins about a year ago when I first got the "Frowning Ipod" face on my iPod, was about to send it in, when it magically turned on. So it worked on and off for about a year, and then yesterday it finally 'died'. It was working fine on the way out to the slopes, then when I got back in my car it wouldn't play any music without freezing and my hard drive made an awful scratching and clicking noise, which it has done in the past. Anyway after messing with it for a few hours, it was finally fucked up. So i tore it apart and took apart the hard drive, not expecting to fix it just to see whats up.
I did however, by a replacement hard drive and it will be super easy to replace. So if anyone has a problem with their IPod that is hard drive related (most are) buying a new hard drive is a good alternative. I got a 30 gb hard drive for $80, instead of having to buy a whole new iPod (mine wasnt under warranty anymore)
