it seriously is. i was a supporter of it. i never seriously did it, but i never hated on no polers. the only thing is, everyone is doing it, and its ruining the whole thing.
alot of the kids doing it, are the kids who saw peps and andys video and thought,"no poles makes you RIDICULOUSLY good looking!" (thx derek) well.... it dont. it only makes yur style looked forced and makes you seem poser.
dont get me wrong, you can ski no poles if u really must, but know this; you are never gonna be as steezy as t-wall, just because you dropped those aluminum shafts. you will never nosepress like pep, just cause you dropped your poles, you will never grab like mahre, just cause you dropped your poles. so seriously stop, like a newschooler whos name passes my once said, "no poles is legit, making fun of it is retarded; but everyone instantly converting and dropping their poles, would be equally retarded.
so there.

i me and my friend started skiing without poles for fun every once and a while then we did it more and more until we decided to not use them.Im still not using them but my frind i think is going back to poles because he thought he kinda looked gaper without poles but i still love it i can grab way better without poles. This all took place before all these threads about how steezy pep and and looked without poles.

i dont think it matters as long as you have style
sometimes i feel like riding with them. sometimes i dont it just depends on what song is in my playlist, how warm it is out... idont fucking know its just steezy sometimes and sometimes its not. Im more comfortable hitting jumps with poles but rails im set without

fuck poles...unless you have to go somewhere not downhill. i personally am better without poles...some kids just do it cause t.j does it and andy does it but who cares...learn how to ski without poles it does look steezier unless your flailing or doing something stupid and you dont really need poles cause your going downhill 90% of the time.

the best way to get rid of a fad is to play it out....no poles is already starting to get played.

The only thing I have against poles is FUCKING THUMB JAM. My thumb was soo swollen the other day it was ridiculous. O well, i guess the only way to fix that is to stop falling.

here in the east people would look at you crooked if you didn't run poles..
I find they help balance, and if you have a special need to not run poles thats cool, but if your not running them cause you feel like being new-er school, kinda makes you a poser by default...

Def. Its not for everyone, and its not for pow, but why use poles in the park? I mean I do, and most people do, and there are the obvious positive reasons, but the reasons to do dont really outweigh those not to in the park. The park is all about innovation anyways.

well, i like skiing with no poles in the park cause i can grab much better and i dont have to worry about landing on them, so when my friend snapped his i gave him mine for the day, bad choice, the rest of the mountain is terrible without them.
in conclusion, park sans poles= your own decision, the rest of the mountain youre missing a valuable tool, though still your decision

being a snowboarder, i like to use no poles when i am skiing. whenever i ski with poles i just think they are a hassle and i have to carry them around.
i know that i prollly look like a homo with no poles but its more fun for me.
for the people who can pull it off, i think it looks way sicker.
the stuff tom wallisch (sp?) does in his superunknown part without poles is so steezy

don't the people in your "west side havoc" crew ski without poles?
All times are Eastern (-5)
