How many times did you fall on a box

...before you got it down?
I'm a really new park skiier so please don't be an asshole. Today was my first day on boxes and it was painful. I can do boxes that don't have a gap between the kicker and the box, but otherwise I got owned. I could do a full 90 onto the box but I could stay up for 3/4th of a 20 fter at the most before I slid backwards onto my ass. I fell at least 20 times onto the box. Tell me, how long does this take to learn and is it normal for me to get killed on the first day?

haha k im so getting some impact shorts, i end up with bruises on my hips every day from various things, today it was going too fast at the wallride. i can do boxes and rails but sometimes im kinda going on autopilot and not thinking and then ill flip over on a ride on rail and land on it (i did that today and it wasnt fun + embarrasing as hell) but really you just haveto relax and sort of have the right mindset like not overly focused but not daydreaming if that makes any sense

get confident going straight one to a box, mix it up a bit with boxes with gaps, after that go on straight and on a flat edge and wide stance go side ways, get used to that with the right weight on the front foot, after that hit it and land sideways, should take around 5hr to get it down, and if u get hurt and shock in up take a few runs not in the park as a breather and try again

first time I tried rotating onto a box I lost my balance and fell, second time I nailed it. key for me was to get enough speed and to make sure I landed on the box flat. still having trouble with rails, only just started getting them though.

damn, I can't get rails for shit but I can do pretty much any smaller box cept c boxes since I haven't tried them yet. I think it's probably just a mental thing though.

It took me a whole day, and I couldn't sleep on that side of my body without almost crying for well over a week. Must have been over 50 hits, just a 20 foot flat, and I still suck. Just keep tryin dude.

yeah the gap helps me rotate for some reason, if there is no gap sometimes I only get rotated like 75 degrees

yeah its easier with a gap i find that on ride on stuff i end up leaning back too much

if you like to "hockey stop" with left foot forward theres a good chance that jibbing left foot forward is your natural direction. give it a shot!
and just keep your weight way forward, beginners always lean back and its a great way to eat shit. and keep a wide stance

get enough speed. it seems scary to get more speed to try a box or rail (or at least it does for me) but it makes it so much easier to balance and slide the whole jib if you have enough speed.

try some rails, cuz i can do rails but i bust my ass on boxes because compared to rails they are alot more slippery
