i cant seem to clean em. is it easier to slide em with the back of ur skis into the curve or the front of ur skis into the curve? ive been slidin them with the front of my skis into the curve cuz its my strong side with the way the curve was shaped but any tips?
i find it much easier with my tips in the curve... hitting it like backside... it really depends on which way the c is facing and which way ur more comfortable grinding... left or right foot first... but just keep ur knees bent and lean with it a lil bit... not difficult...
i feel more in control sliding with my tails inside the c so that i can still watch the end of the box as it comes around. sliding backside i feel like i have less control. plus if you go too fast and fall out riding backside you just get owned. otherwise though just lean and keep a real wide stance and youll just slide it out. and commit the whole way, dont try to pull off the rail early it just makes you die.
i can only do frontsides, like c bending right and grinding right foot foward consistently, but I sort of twist my upper body to the right and almost like you're doing a shifty, so you rotate with the box. also, stay on the inside more than you think you have to. with backsides i have to do double toepiece grabs to keep from flying off backwards and dying.
^^ post count much? but yeah its usually better to come off the outside rather then the inside of cboxes (unless theyre set up side by side so it looks like )( in which case its an all around bad deal. thats how i fucke dup my shin and put a 3 inch gash in it. but you still look good when you stomp em
Like others have said, C-rails are just a balance between speed and leaning. I first learned on a rail with my tails in inside the curve but either way is fine.
If your tails are inside the curve, think of sitting in the backseat as you land on the rail. I also think of putting my front should down toward my front ski because the natural inclination is to lean back and not completely get into the rail. Make sure you get completely sideways to the rail too.
If you're leaning forward into the C, pretty much just make sure you get sideways and lean forward.
As you begin doing them, you figure out the speed/lean ratio. If you're falling inside the C, speed up or lean less. If your falling outside, slow down or lean more. Hope that helps.
there was a thread on this like last week.
lean with it rock with it
have the right speed or your overshoot it and slide off the top or slide off the bottom if to slow
