i was just thinkin about this cuz i saw an ad for it in a mag and its elevation is like 10' above sea level. just wonderin if they have pow days and stuff like that and if u get to ski all yr around idk jw

I ski Aly. We had about 500" of total snowfall by the end of January, so, yeah, we get pow days. The base elevation is 250', so Aly will get some coastal cement just like Whistler, WA, OR, and CA. You can ski weekends through May most years.

I just hiked to the top last weekend under the sunny sky...sooo beautiful.

And the pow is sick but as far as jumps go, its the shittiest resort ever unless you like straitlining moguls into a 3' tall mogul (jump), and landing in more moguls and other various shit.

the last two pics were taken a long time ago, but thats the run I hiked last weekend. Its sooo fun. It allowes true big mountain style hits, like 70 degree slopes with cliffs.

but this year the cliffs have more exposure and its waay more fun to hit them.

70 degree slopes??????? r u kidding me? i thought the only slope that was ridable was like 65ish. or are those like cliffs... sick anyway ive never heard of anyone ridin over like a 65 degree slope. maybe im wrong w/e

come to juneau. were #1 at least in north america for snowfall is what our paper said the other day. for the first time ever lame southeast is cool. you anchorages should come play with us.

Headwall, which I think Tanaka was refering to, is more like 40-50 degrees in my estimation. But it's wide open, and last weekend it was untracked. For 20 very sweet seconds, you get to feel like you're Seth Morrison.

well I was referring to the other side of chilkoot ridge, the part facing Chair 6. Some parts get pretty steep. As for the inside of the bowl, as pictured, its pretty mellow, but word on the seth morrison thing you said.

Yeah, the Chair 6 side might be 55+ degrees. Everytime I hiked up, I considered it, but 25 minutes of bootpacking for 500' vertical ending in a flatish bowl just didn't seem worth it.

It's supposed to start snowing tomorrow.

The top is not serviced by a lift so you have to hike if you want to get to the top.
