My step mom is really into this stuff. Its pretty intresting if you think about it. I've seen the video, I forgot the name of it, but the book is really good. I listen to it with my dad in the car on the way to skiing. Its really calming and makes you think about what you want to do and what you're capable of. If you have an open mind then I suggest you get the video or book.

i think its bullshit too. its just too simple. if everyone had "happy thoughts" and got what they wanted this world would collapse. It also seems like a simple answer to a huge question. my mom was watching that last night and i had to leave it sucked so bad. i didnt tell her that though cause she was pretty into it. i thought it was a joke.

i think thats just overanalyzing life. i mean some of that stuff i do believe in, like positive thoughts bring positive results, which is the placebo effect, but i also strongly believe in jynxing things. im paranoid about jynxing things because, i kid you not, EVERY time i jynx something, something goes wrong. every time i become overconfident, i get kicked in the nuts. and i stress "every". its anoying and i wish this trend wasnt present.

i think there is truth to it but its not all that simple, like how many times have you seen a bike and got it just by thinking about it or some dude randomly asks you to go play volley ball.
the way i see it is you ask then find out what you need for it then answer it by working your ass off to get it not by the heavens opening up and heading your prayer, work for the tings you want and they become more useful and more important then something you were given

Yeah thats the kinda stuff I like to believe, And I do. It just sucks when you dont know what you want/what you want to do. I'm currently have a big fat blank spot in my mind when it comes to choosing a specific career/course to explore and expand my knowledge on.
Maybe I dont want to? But I really dont know how else to live without a career/money.

eh, it does seem to be kind of a lazy person's approach...its like saying i could work for this, but if i wish hard enough it might eventually come

Coincidentally someone just got me to watch a dvd on this stuff the other day.
It's interesting..
I think that simply looking at it as "wishing really hard" for things that you want is a necessary over-simplification required to get the point across.
What it seems to fundamentally boil down to is that developing an overall positive outlook on things leads to better results in life... seems reasonable to me.

Obviously you don't understand. If you want something bad enough and think you will have it without a doubt then you will be presented with an opportunity to achieve it. It might not be the one to get to it but it will carry you to another one that eventually, you will get what you want. You will have to take the opportunity or else it won't happen. Its not saying it will magically appear, you have to take them and use them. I've used it many times to get what I want. People ask me all the time how I come by such awesome deals on stuff that I want.

its not that i dont understand
i just dont really agree. somethings you cant just want and have. i think theres more to it than wanting something and stumbling on an opportunity.

well the actual theory is bullshit. i dont believe that any of those people had any right to sound intellegent until i see their qualifications at the bottom of the screen. cool concept. i think that most things are in our grasp though, and its just a matter of putting fourth the effort to obtain whatever it is you want

This is all bullshit, you get what you want through hard work and dedication. But it is right about the optimisim thing. What is the difference between those who are successful and those who are not? Those who fail maintain a pessimistic world view to avoid feeling shame at their preferred behavior: inaction. Because if success is impossible, inaction is intelligent, and they can admire their wisdom. But if success is possible or, God forbid, likely, inaction is stupid, and they must face their cowardice. Those who succeed are those who face their cowardice and rise above their fears.
