new to newschoolers.....right now im riding 1080 foils 166....next year im looking to buy new skis and am lookin at the arv's and guns...w/e i get im definately getting a longer ski any suggestions to these 2 skis would be great....thanks
No question.. The ARV's are one of the best go anywhere do anything ski on the market... Super easy to ski and lots of fun..
The ARV was the first ski to sell out at Armada...
Everyone that I that has a set LOVES them!
I haven't hear one bad thing except they could stand to be a bit stiffer.. For 2007-2008 they will be 13% stiffer.. They still ski great!
Are the Guns till "Foam" core?
I had a set about 3 years ago and after one season the camber was shot and they were plain noodles.. Still even new they were a bit soft...
If you have a chance to ski both before buying I would..
If not go with ARV, you wont have any regrets...
Size wise I would prob go with the 175 if you are wanting to go a bit longer.. They ski a bit shorter than that though..
The 185s that I have don't really feel that long compared to my JPvsJuliens....
well i herd guns are a charging ski. but i have arv's and they are sick and not bad for charging at all. (both obviously do great in pow though, ton of float)
I've skied both, but i have torn the fuck out of 175 arvs the psat 2 years. I was a previous pretty hard core racer so i definately rip them thorugh crud, groomers everyday as well as the park. The Guns don't hold up on groomers worth shit im sry to say, i don't know if its what there made of or what, but overall i think the arv is a way sturdier ski that can get its shit tossed everday in any condtion and still ride well. and u don't ski the smae ski as every 35-45yo that thinks there "hip" hahaha. Plus its buttery fun!
ARV! I sold mine, and got some Jp Juliens and now sorely regret doing so. The ARV is just so sick, and if you can't decide waht ski to ride that day you can always go with the ARV cause it can go everywhere from the back bowls to the park.
i have this years guns and theyre great.. how heavy are you though, because if you are a heavier rider you might want something a little bit more stable/not as soft im 140 lbs. bout 6 foot and im on the 174 and there great...i have probably alraedy growen outta them, oh well but a damn good ski
