I rode an amtrak like 4 years ago from buffalo, ny to seattle. the amtrak stations are mostly all way behind the times. there wasn't any security whatsoever that i could remember.

yea seriously about the whole security thing. are they waiting for something to happen first before they use security?
And as far as the alcohol goes... you drink the 5th before you get on the train, and then bring some in your backpack to "coast" through the trip
