How do sessions jackets hold up, like the ridge and summit series, do they have linings or are they just shells? All the ones i have seen seem like they would not be warm and are strictly shells... any thoughts?
u need to do more research.. there's tons of sessions gear with 3-1 systems, tons with super warm integrated lining and some which are just shells. go their web site or just look up for sessions gear at any online store.
The website and other websites have info about 30,000 waterproofness and all, but they say are super vague about lining and stuff. The sessions website makes it look like the warmest stuff is the SUMMIT Gear, which has all the waterproofness, but they all those jackets say they have mesh liners, mesh is not exactly warm. The Ridge series says the same stuff. The puffy jackets are the only ones that say they have down filling.
look for 3 in 1's or fleece linings.. i have right now a sessions coat w/a detachable vest which is nice and warm & i sold a sessions recoil about a month ago which had a very warm fleece lining.
i have one of the sessions coats thats just the shell, before this season it was the only one i had so i took it in below 0 and upper 30's. you will be fine, you just need to wear aa tech layer under it.
