just got some wrecked trblemakers and i need to know how hard it is to unmout my old fixes from my old skis and remount them on the trouble makers? I would do this myself with typical tools u have a home. im inexperianced in this.
i mounted my 1260's on my own. I wouldn't reccomend it if you are still serious about your skis, (still ridding them at a hill). I did mine just to urban with and it worked perfectly. If your going to do it at home this is what you need to do (what i did):
1) pre mark the drill holes with a marker (so everything lines up) on both nose and heel piece with the correct boot sole length
2) drill small holes into the ski where each mark was made to make an outline for the screw to go.
3) plug each hole with glue (there is probably something better for this, i justed used some super wood glue that was in the basement) (do this one at a time. for instance, if you doing the left foot toe piece first, do the 4 holes for that toe piece all at once)
4)Place binding on the ski in proper location so that the holes with the glue line up equally.
5)Screw in either with a drill or by hand each of the 4 screws. (Some glue will come up, just wipe it away)
6)do the same thing with the other nose piece, and 2 heel pieces (it doesnt matter what order you do it in, just do one at a time or else the glue can start to harden)
If your actually going to do it PM me and i can give you a more thorough detailed process.
thnx, i still ride the old skis theire race skis and they suck for what i do with them. but for sure ill get twintips end of this year.. well wtv enough of my life...the troublemakers are predrilled already
I mouted my gf skis: put bindings on paper, make stencil with pencil, drill a bit, screw and your done. dont screw too much and check the lenght of the screw versus the depth of the skis... epaisseur in english? also put some epoxy or any other stuff in the holes you screw in and plug the old holes. last thing, be sure to mesure your stuff before drilling
