How are 07 line invaders? and what size for me?

Sorry if this has been answered, but im new. My local ski shop has the 07 line invader...how is it? Im doing mostly rails and spins right now, no pipe really. And im in vermont, so no insane powder that i need wide skiis for. Also, I want mainly for park, but something that can atleast do alright on all mountain would be nice. Also what length? I really like shorter skiis. Im 5'2-1/2". Ive been using 143cm skis, i know its short for my height, but i like them that way. So anyone know how they are? and if their not great, what is their for me in a low price range? The invaders are going for like $140.

well if your talking about the invader mini which i think u are, itll be great for park, pipe etc. but idk how well itll hold up all mountain. another option is the nothing but trouble by dynastar in 155. for invaders the highest size in a mini is a 153 which will be great for this season, but depending on how much u grow it might be too short for the next. i think 155 nothing but troubles wuld be good for you and prolly a better bet if ur gonna be doing a little all mountain on the side.

Actually, ive been reading they get trashed easily, and I just killed some chronics like that, so what would be a more durable park ski kinda like that?

go ahead and buy the invaders , their soo sick and dont have any problems except for the topsheet chips very easily.. so if cosmetic stuff dosent bother you than the invader is the way to go! i would say a 161 is a good size for you because if you center mount them you'll have way more control over them and feel more confident on rails and when doing spins. my one ski did delam but that was just a defect in the ski and now its all good.

Mine only have two chips, and I've been using them all year.. but since you have some too, I believe you.

Yeah thanks, I guess Im leaning back towards them. Im not rteally sure about 161's tho...My parents make me race, and my GS skis are 168s...And if im not on a completely open trail, Im terrified of those beasts. I know 161 is a good deal smaller, but I kinda like the smaller, wider ski thing. How high should a ski come up to you? My chronics are 143 and come up to the bottom of my nose, I know, tiny. So a 151 invader would be like almost as tall as me, meaning just gettign to small like end o next season right? Hopefully that makes a little sense. Thanks though.

By the way, I think ill center mount...thats how I have it on my chronics, and raills seem like theyd be so much harder any different. Also I feel like switch would be less stable if youve only got a little room from back of binding to tail.

Invaders are naturally center mounted. And I have 178's and they go just past my head. I wouldn't have picked any smaller size (I'm like 5'9").

yea man bigger skis are different at first but you get used to it fast and trust me longer skis are way more fun and there easier to grab in the air and look really steezy.
i would say go with the 161 you'll regret it if you dont

theyre made for center mount buddy. thus the "totally semetrical dimensions". but yeah dude def at least the 161s. as center mount skis they look mad goofy and short unless theyre at least a decent length. general rule of thumb is to get skis about as tall as you are +/- a few cm either way. youll be a better skier for it.

151's would be about my hight...im pretty sure. 143 comes up to my nose. And Ive heard a lot about invaders comnig apart which kinda scares me...but I erally cant find anything better. I loved my chronic minis!! damn you line for discontinuing them!

go with the 161's, they are perfect for ur size.
it will ski shorter since it is center mounted so go with the 161 for sure.
dont go shorter.
great ski btw, i have the 178 and love it!

well i know there isnt anything special about the invader mini's and there more likely to break than the 161's because they have a foam core , and have none of the invaders features like the completely symmetric design, 4d fibercap, butter zones ,elliptical sidecut ,maple macroblock core, and symmetric flex they have none of that, so listen to everyone wen they say get the 161 you'll love it haha

i work at a ski shop. twins are generally supposed to be around ur chin area, some like them shorter, others longer. mine are just under my height, just cause i like a longer ski. but its really personal opinion. stand next to a tape measure, or the actual skis, n just see which ud feel most comfortable with. you said u like ur shorter skis now, so i would go anywhere between chin to nose, leaving a little growing room. but like ive said, it really is a lot of personal opinion so

Thanks ryan...i dont get it....you say chin to nose, and some people are saying 161s which would be like taller then me. I know its personal preference tho. Im thinking the 153's would treat me nicely.

but your GS boards are stiff as a steel beam and invaders are way softer with dulled edges and prob lighter weight so you will easily be able to ride them. GET THE 161 TRUST ME. you may spin a little slower and shit but then when they fit you good everything will be sooooooo easy cause youre used to working alot harder to throw tricks. and it will ski better all mountain

my edge is falling off, the topsheet is full of holes and my base it trashed, all from park riding. if you want your money's worth, wait for the new fujatives or something, same butter effect and way better quality

Taller skis will also teach you how to spin the correct way and not just huck and throw your arm and get all penciled with short skis. Also the 161's will carry better speed.
