Full-face Helmets?

(1) Performance: Too hot in the spring ? Goggles fog? Visability in the park?

(2) Image? I don't think anything if someone's sporting one, but I don't know if others think a full-face helmet makes its wearer look like a Morrison wannabe.

(#1 is obviously more important than #2, but I am curious what people think.)

I don't see the benefit of wearing one, a normal helmet will work just fine pretty much everywhere IMO

i wear a full face and i love it. way more balzy when it comes to throwin shit, especially big hucks. last thing I want to do to spoil a sweet pow day is eat my knee for lunch. i did that last season in the park and f@#k it hurts!

it does get really hot in there when i'm hikin, but I just cool off my nogen by takin it off on the lift. I recommend em for sure.

For the record, I probably ski about 75% big mountain, 25% park.

I took a ski to the mouth from a stupid little freak crash on a small hit in the park a few years ago. So, if they aren't too unwieldy, I think they'd have a place in the park, at least in terms of protection.

There was this one thread where a guy ate shit while wearing a helmet, the only problem is that he fell face first... hist lip and nose were swollen huge. Situations like that make me think a full faced helmet might not be so bad.

Fullface can limit visability, make ur goggles fog up, and its required to own balls the size of AK if you own one. Id recommend it for Big Mountain. But ask yourself, do you really need it? Just get a moufgurd.

ya it would be good for pow, not for park. and ya probably really hot. $$$$ is also an issue

I'd only get one for the days I go out and ski big lines.  I've considered it, but I don't have enough money to justify having two helmets.  But it's definitely nice to have some face protection when you jump off something and the landing is flatter than you expected!

i use mine every single day, the protection is just there and like, if you DO fall on your face you WILL be glad you wore it, and most haters have never wridden them. they dont limit visibility at all and if you get hot take it off on the lift

i had the Giro Flint SC last season and it was nice cept i crashed like 3 tmes on my face and i cracked the shell where the chin gaurd connects and i cracked the visor on the same crash, so in short DONT get that helmet but they definantly can be sick if you can throw down

unless your skiing biglines backcountry shouldn't wear a full face.
1. you can cause a seriose neck injury with it on hard snow aka the park. The chin piece can cause your neck to tweak more than if you didn't have something there
2. You look like a retard wearing at the hill because 99% of the people that wear them at the hill don't need them and don't know about 1.^
3. and most important i think, if you have to ask if you should wear a full face then you deff should not get one

it is a lot better protection not just face wise but fdor your whole head like my moto helmet will be a lot safer than my gay ass race helmet thats a no brainer no matter what you wanna say
