Is 1 9cm length increase really that noticable?

So I've been skiing 176cm skis the past few years. The skis I am looking to move into are available in 178cm and 185cm lengths.
I am curious about maybe going to the longer length. How much of a difference will those few CM's actually make in the way the ski feels in the air, and on the snow.

Really depends on how you mount them. If I had long ones, I'd center mount for sure unless they were pow skis. What skis, how tall are you...?

Well I ride 168 scratches, and when I ride my friends 176 ar5s, they feel a lottt bigger. They're both centred. But How tall are you? I' 168cm

The skis I'm looking to go to are the Scratch BC WRS.
I'd be using them as an all-around ski. Park, all-mountain. Whatever I feel like.

I'd go for the longer length then. Mount close to center or a few cm back, and they should perform pretty well. If you want shorter skis for park, you can always fall back on your old pair if need be.

I would go 178. I don't understand why the trend is go longer now. I would think a 185 would just be more work and less fun. And please don't go center. Especially for all mountain. It doesn't make sense. But thats just my opinion. If your gonna charge on them real hard maybe you need 185s...

Or look for last years black BC (stiffer), more of a better all mt. This years WRS is lighter and softer in the tip, likes softsnow, mostly pow and their fine, and always on edge, if you straight line on the wrs any bump can kill you. Go 178 last year and 185 this year for pow. Both skis turn very well on groomers. Also they both measure a couple cm shorter than they say. Line phrophet 100 I hear also check out but havn't skied em.

Well, I don't plan on Center Mounting. I had no intentions. I was likely going to go with the forward recommendation from Rossi.
As for stiffness...
I've been skiing noodles for the past years, and dare I say, I prefer a soft ski. I like a good flex, as it is fun to flex around.
I'm kinding leaning towards 178 thouhg, just because I will still be EC and don't need to rip big lines with it. Shorter seems like it'll rip tight spaces and be easier to toss around, say in the trees.
The only problem I'm having now is the fact that I need to decide between the Scratch BC WRS or the Libtech skis, both with very similar footprints, but the libtech has the magnetraction. I can get both at about the same price.
Only hesitation on the libtechs is there is so little info out about them.

I like your thinking. haha. Um i would go with the 178 bc wrs, but i do have a friend that rides the libs in a 188. they are definetely stiffer than the rossis but he said the wavy edges really work and he likes them alot..
