My Story -
i was up at mt hood meadows on saturday training for the pipe competition on sunday. The pipe wasnt open for the public so me and my friends instead hit up the rail park. I was having a pretty good start for the day hitting the massive wall and all the flat down flat, and long down rails.Ive never tried a c rail in my life so i though about trying my first c rail that was there. I hit it and ended up leaning too far back and falling 5 or so feet straight onto my head and then onto my splean. Not being able to breath for nearly a minute and knowing something was wrong. I skied down to my friends who were waiting to see what i would say about what happened on the rail. The pain grew worse and worse and i was unable to breath or speak. I immediatly laid down on the side of the run not being able to talk to my friends. After about 10 minutes of pure silence i told my friends to go take a short run. As they left many people would ask me if i was ok or not and wether they should get ski patrol. After about an hour of sitting on the snow in unbarable pain a member of the ski patrol came and put me in a tabagon to go down to the clinic. There i got an IV fluids put into me after a IV shot which took about an hour or so. Then the local hospital in portland (OHSU) sent in a helicopter to take me to the the hospital. After a long 20 minute flight back to Portland. I was immediateley put into a intensive care unit. They took a x ray of some sort to see what was wrong with my splean. They told me i had a ruptured splean with internal bleeding inside my splean. Also said that if such bleeding would go on they would be forced to take my splean out of my body. They told me that i would be in the hospital for 3-5 days and under intensive care. My stomach and my lungs were affected by this crash and breathing and talking was unbarable for atleast 2 days. The doctors finally gave me the news that i couldnt do any such physical sport or activity for 6 months. Luckily my splean started to recover and i was finally able to eat after my 3rd day. I am still in the hospital for my forth day here telling everyone on ns my story.
