Mutes and spinning

Lets say I spin to the right, and when I want to do a mute 1 3 5 whatever, I cross my right ski over my left, and grab with my left hand. Is this right? Other people have told me that I should grab that was and spin left. Just wondering what other people do

ok so I spin to the left and I grab my left ski that is over my right si with my right hand.

For you, left ski over right and grabbing with your right hand would be a leading mute which is harder. The easier mute would be to cross your right ski over your left and grabbing with your left hand.

Sweet, thats what I thought, I find the right over left a lot easier, its just a few kids say do it the other way and its easier, but I just can't

i am the same as u normally u grab with ur leading hand but u and me are cool and use are following hand...i think it looks sweater

Well I guess I am pretty weird then because I spin to my left and I find it more comfortable to cross my right ski over my left and grab with my left hand. I find this easier because I am throwing my right ski to the left (the same direction I spin) instead of throwing my left ski to the right because its going against the spin, I find this screws me up. Maybe this means I have more steeze J

Technically, a mute grab is grabbing your opposite ski (whether or not you grab). When I spin left, I grab my left ski with my right hand. Just the way I learned it, though. Everyone learned it a different way. Who cares? They're crossed
