whats the best way to do it, should u do, bunny hop, or pop up the front wheel, i don't know so please tell me

poppin the front, then manualing, and then pull up the tail, you can jump higher that way

you can bunny hop or j-hop, bunny hop over small quick obstacles, use a j-hop for a large planned jump over or onto something, bunny hop basically just jump with your bike, lift the front and follow with the back. J-hop you go onto your back wheel first and then in a j motion towards you, you lift up, and basically you'll jump as high as you lift your front tire

use clip pedals. or off dirt jumps get tons of speed. or learn the bunny hop and the j-hop

clip peddles? you pussy, use bmx flats or else you'll never really learn, for a dirt jump just giv'r at the jump and when you hit the lip just keep the front of your bike up so you don't nose dive

if u got shocks, just push off the front and j-hop. and if its a jump go fast. dont bring the nose too high, landing on your back hurts

Yeah, speed is everything. I dont think I've ever had too much speed. Only not enough speed, I've gotten pretty fucked up from not carrying enough speed. Also, pre-load your suspension(if you have it.)

the trick is come in with lots of speed, when you get to the jump be standing with your pedals even(helps to have clip ins) lighten or 'pop' of the lip just like in skiing then drop the fron wheel for the landing

If you're jumping off a drop or something like that be sure to keep lift up your front wheel instead of bunny hop, if you bunny hop you could get real fucked up, lifting up your front will give you better balance for your landing.

it semms like sometimes you can just pull up the front wheel and the back wheel will hit the jump and follow..........whatever its fun no matter how you do it as long as you dont crash

i love doing small drops on this little kid, one speed, pedal break mountain bike. its so much fun. dropping a little cliff into really tall grass reminds me of dropping into powder

i was watching this one mountain bike race and i stood by this one hill that was sorta like a jump and i yelled at everyone to jump it. Only like 3 peopl did.

yea just come in with speed and that should do it, or in the air you can lift thefront tire then up and forward with the handelbars to bring the back tire up thats complately wrong though its just something you do

man, i agree with cj. sounds really intense.. i always shyed away from jumping on my mtb cause i was always afraid of railing my nuts on the bar... thats would kill so much

USE FLAT PEDALS! IF you're jumping long DH race style jumps with little tranistion just hit them fast pop a little (compress yourself then spring up as you leave the lip) and don't wuss out. If your jumping trails style jumps(steeper) then you don't want to go to fast or you'll go too far. Start small and work up then you'll know how fast to go. Pop again but try and get the front wheel higher that a DH jump and then nose it down to the landing- you want to have both wheels landing at the same time. Don't bunny hop cos you'll get no air at all.
