Replying to Going to vail tmrw, need help with video camera!

Hey this is a real real longshot but i need some video camera help, if anyone is knowledgable on the subject.
The camera is a Panasonic PV-DV1030 miniDV recorder.
When i put a tape in and press play or rec, i hear this like wrinkly, crunchy, screechy, scratchy sound and the tape gets either wrinkled or pulled out of the mini DV casette. Is there anyway to fix this by tmrw or am i just fucked camerawise?
