well the thing is, i have a pair of 50 inch poles, and won a pair of 46 inch, and i seem to use the shorter ones all the time and i was wondering when i go out west if the bigger poles help or w/e...idk.
I suppose the extra length would help when traversing and the poles sink deep in the snow, but then why wouldn't you get wide baskets to prevent that problem?
If I had 2 pairs of poles I'd cut them the same length but have small baskets for the park pair and fricken' huge baskets for the pow pair. I don't think I'd want to go up 4 inches though, it would throw me off.
