I hear theres a huge comp up here this weekend so I wouldnt recomend coming but..... All of our jumps are pretty large and prime, our rails are slacking, pipe is ok. Its pretty fun though...
the huge comp is a snowboard one and i guess it isnt actually located at spirit. maybe it is, not sure, its the snowboard revolutions tour. but either way, im still coming and hitting fun, large, perfect, triple jumps!
So basically... way to be a Debby Downer. I have lots of snowboard friends from wild that will be there so it aint no thang. Ill support them. but there is more than just that one day. I got 3 days. so it will be worth it.
not to rain on your parade, but it is a 3 day comp at spirit. and i'm just guessing, but anything that is open, is gonna get rutted real fast. but i could be wrong. but the bar is nice with $5 pitchers and all.
yeah i agree with chris this is not the weekend to come up. They have taken down almost all of the rails and put berms in for a snowboard cross. So yeah I'm going to stay away.
I forgot about the comp this weekend. I'll be up there on Sunday. It's mostly pretty good, but there's not a big base of snow. All totally skiable. Prolly won't last too much longer if we're supposed to be in the 40s.
Did anyone like having a box and rail on Powder Monkey?
so right now the entire park is closed for the snowcross deal. it'll be closed all day tomorrow too (you can't even hike a single jib). pipe is closed sat 9-3. park will be closed 9-3 as well on sat and/or sunday (i'm not sure if slopestyle is saturday, sunday, or both). the funniest thing is that the grandprize (so i heard) is only $75. and it's not cheap to enter.
yeah one guy told me while riding up the lift today, that border cross was friday, pipe was saturday, and slope was sunday....but he wasnt too sure himself....
I think that if they are going to close the WHOLE freakin park for some boardercross, they might as well close it off full time to anyone NOT actually riding the park...I don't think they realize how many people buy a pass JUST for there park, in and out of town.
Oh, and if anyone knows the park director out there, should tell him to set up a couple gap-to-rails on there first little boardercross table they built. Has some sweet potential......
yeah I was looking at those first couple of rollers thinking how great it would be to have some rails up higher on the hill. But I tried to get that last year and like usual was shot down. I could vent about this for a bit, but I won't.
Last night the halfpipe was the best it has ever been though. And as we where leaving they were bringing up the pipe cutter to cut it. If its a sunny day the pipe would be a fun all day thing.
you would. but tomorrow the pipe is the only closed thing and sunday the park is closed for slopestyle. the park is open all day saturday. Ill be there killin it. so will Jbeas, Chris and nathan n I maybe E-rut?
long down rail.
S rail
flat down rail
that was all. they had trap box up for the comp.
and some stupid pole jam skiers would die on if they hit it.
oh yeah and a actual JUMP to the box on a JUMP landing. that was kinda cool
