Rar vs mp3?

sometimes when i dl songs the save as rar instead of mp3. this happens sometimes with albums and then i can't get them into my ipod library. What's rar? and is there any way to fix this?

Rar is like zip. Get winrar and it should open it then you can extract it.

rar is great once you know what youre doing, you can download files sooo much faster.
