Until quite recently I have only seen a few people skiing without poles and it never bothered me at all. I even did it every now and then because it helps quite a bit with grabs and it feels cool. But as of lately I have seen a considerable about of people skiing without poles and its becomeing a trend! whats up with that?
its actually better looking in person than i expected. in park. i think that in the deep and bowls you need poles though, so ill be using them this week
thats exactly what i was thinking but everytime i tried to talk about it i get bashed for "hating" on no poles i mean ive done it before an its pretty fun and all but gets old but since pep did it everyone else has to, same thing with growing a beard with tanner. I mean having an idol is cool and all but copying everything they do is getting a lil outta hand, its cool if you like to ski without poles and think its fun but its just a little weird if it is really so fun why you never tried/did it before.
i think it looks a ton better if youre grabbing with poles. means you actually have to try to do the grab. learn how to be good with the tools you've got. want to drop the poles? why not snowboard?
if you lose the poles you lose the ability to ski well on the other 85% of the mountain that isnt park..
Ive been rocking no poles for a while now, Its fun! and it helps with your balance and style. When i pick up poles again every so often i feel alot more controlled in the air.
If you decide to ride Mt.Creek NJ for the other 85% of the mountain then you might as well be skiblading, the park is the only thing worth going for and theres a reason why I choose to ski and not snowboard
Why is it okay for you to try it but not for anyone else at your hill? If they haven't skied without poles before, how do you know they are not just doing it to try something new or because it's fun?
Something inspired you to try it, so by your own logic you were just following someone elses trend when you tried it.
please pete mithohofer or somethin liek that n ep even mik d support that shit in old ass stereotype trendy or not dont try to coin someone as a trend-setter for nopole
i broke my poles this year and actually started learning new tricks with out them, so once i got poles again it felt wierd. but if im skiing trees or something other than groomers and park i still use them.
i think the problem is we only have a couple wagons, theyre both 45years old, rusting, and overflowing with gapers and tourists... now that new empty wagon looks kinda nice roomy
one time i was trying to get double tip grabs and left my poles at the bottem then started hitting boxes and rails when i would get cut off and when i picked my poles back up everything felt so much cleaner, but i wouldnt goto the hill without poles
this whole deal is a snowball effect. a majority of kids see pep and mahre rockin it so they rock it. kids see a lot of other kids rockin it so they rock it. but it was gay a month ago.
yeah thats what ive hearrd all over the place
if the were original itd be cool...but seeing as theyre copying a mistake jsut makes them look like fools
it is supposed to be a newschool site and it is soooo consrervative every time people do smthing new others bitch it. just ski guys, if it is more fun without pole, then let people ski ithout poles, if you are not tolerant go race...
