advice i just got, if your planning on making your video into dvd quality, dont buy a camera that has interlace.

first of all, it costs a shitload of money to get a camera that has the option to shoot progressive framerates(non-interlace)
and second, "dvd quality" isnt actually that good. Even if you shoot interlaced footage, it still has to be compressed to fit on a dvd. DVD vids are just MPEG-2 compressed vids. What the tree focus shots in TBC really carefully and you can see VERY faint artifacting. This is what Im talking about.
this is also why DVDs look like shit when you play them on your comp; computer screens are hi-def (for the most part) and so the compression is very noticable.

^its a pretty basic skate-style camera. Its good if you're just starting out. The cosmetic designthough. is really shitty

oh, honestly i dont no that much about cameras, and that explains alot. i was just going off what my friend was telling me, whos like a techno freak, and was telling me cameras with interlace were like obsolete in quality. however probly because he has a hdr or something that cost him about 5000. but thanks for the info on that, because that was the exact opposite of what i had guessed.
