yea my grandpa is a euthanasiast. he put my dad to sleep after he pulled up lame fucking sucked, but i'm glad he did cause all he did was get pissed at me for smokin in the house
i think each situation needs to be evaluated independantly, there can be cases where active euthanasia would be more permisable than passive euthanasia, there are casses where passive euthanasia would be more permissable than activly keeping someone on life suport, and there are cases where someone is not in the right state of mind to the extent where they should not have the choice of dieing
fuck i meant my dog not my dad. and i meant vet not euthanasiast. i dont know where the part about my dad not liking me smoking came in or whatever. i was thinking i was responding to two different threads i guess fuck idk.
anyways, i agree with some people above how euthanasia needs to be evaluated on a case to case basis. If someone is in such misery and physical angst that they do not posess teh phyisical ability to take their own life, i see no reason why they can't ask for help. If they were able, they would just do it themselves
it's a tough case, i believe that people would rationalize that a human life is worth more than an animal life, and though i do not exactly like the idea of animal testing/research, i do think that provided the research is progressing the technology or understanding of ailments to humans, that it can be benificial and that it is something that should be allowed.
i also feel that there can be ethical standards that can be implemented upon animal research that can make it more of an acceptable practice, but if it came down to it i think that if a paticular experiament was going to take place and cause harm/ pain ect. to animals yet the outcome would be that it would allow researchers to discover a cure for AIDs or something that there is a trade off that can be made, usualy in favor of human advancement > animal rights
I think i agree with it as long as your life is not going to wast.
my father is a doctor and he gave a patient (with his permission) a large dose of morphine so his death would be peaceful and then harvested his organs for donation.
where if you still have a few years to live healthily but with a terminal desisase i think you should spend every momebt with the people you love saying good bye until the time is right.
