Fixing faint scratches on a car?

whats the easiest/ cheapest way to fix a faint scratch on a car? i hear rubbing alcohol and cotton balls work. any experiance?

um, i don't think rubbing alcohol and cotton balls would do anything. you need a paint polish. try looking for meguiars scratch-x or mothers power polish and foam applicator pads at a local auto supply store.

ya i've used the meguiars scratch-x before on some light scratches and it worked great. if that doesn't work try a fine cut compound.

You have two choices:

1.) Scratch them deeper and into the shape of flames. This will increase your HP by 10+

2.) Put stickers over the scratches. Preferably stickers of flames, NOS, or the name of your vehicle (i.e. DODGE). This increases HP by 15+

wax and buff your car. gets most litte scuffs out.

rubbing alcohol and cotton would work for plastic scuffs etc.

I heard a NS sticker add 15 horsepower and 20 ft/lb of torque, then put a big ass wing on it and a coffee can exhaust. YOu will automatically win every race you are in.
Or go to your local dealer and get touch up paint for $20

Only if you use spraypaint. If you actually get it painted professionaly, it only adds 5 hp

buy a thing of polish and wax at an auto store. It should last you a really long time too.

I would recommend Meguires Show Car Glaze, its a pretty mild polish. Do not apply in a circular motion, this creates swirl marks in the paint. Apply the way that the wind travels over the vehicle, IE: a front to back motion. After polishing the area use a wax to protect the finish. Before doing all of this make sure the vehicle is very clean, or you will scratch it more. Also, do not set any of your applicators on the ground or they will pick up grit and this will scratch the vehicle. Just be methodical about it and you should be good!
