(I know your going to say search bar but) yesterday i did a 5 off a jump into powder and my left ski caught and i fell sorta hard, but when i got up my ankle killed and i couldnt walk for like 3 min.....later on i figured out it was more my shin that was giving me grief, i have never done this so i dont know what to do, but it hurts only when i have ski boots on and not when i take them off....any thoughts, things to prevent this?
You might just have shinbang, or if you're unlucky shinsplints.
Shinbang fixes itself just try to get by and maybe take it a bit easy.
Shinsplints blow, I had em hardcore and I dont have perfect use of a
muscle in that leg, but again, not much you can do. Mine hurt so bad I
went to a doc just cause without being able to ski I had nothing better
to do. He told me 2 weeks, I told him bullshit, I made 8 days. If you landed switch you did the same thing I did and you might as well get used to it.
yeah just take it easy that all you can really do even if it is shin splints which really sucks. If it is shin splings there are a few excercises you can can do, but if it was from only one inpact its probly just shin bang.
i have shin bang or shin splints really bad. its so shitty. i take advil most every time when i ski now which i know i can't keep doing. i don't know what to do.
If it's shin splints to avoid it in the future do stairs or flex your feet with 3 reps of 10 together, toes out, and then toes pointed in. I used to do that for track/cross country to avoid it and it seemed to work for me. It's from your shin muscle separating from the bone because your calve muscle is more developed.
I have the fucking worse shinbang. It actually sucks balls. I started having shin bang on sunday, so I took tuesday off. Then I went skiing on wednesday, and they were a little sore, but not too bad so I skied. I fell pretty hard on them off a rail, and they began to hurt like a bitch. I kinda skied the rest of the day in pain, and now its incredibly painful. Im sure its a shin splint because my shin actually hurts when I walk. I'm going to ice it and take some pain killers, hopefully I can get booster straps and it will just go away quickly, I would be sooo fucking pissed it if it kept hurting through out this break from school.
