dumont skis seem killer, i have the oppurtunity to get em for 900 cad with binders. im gonna ride pipe, jumps, and only park rails. i'm also interested in scratch fs wrs. which do i buy?
i have the dumonts and theyre soooo dope. i got mine for 315 without bindings brand new. theyre sooo light and they have beveled sidewalls and fully reinforced edges. they have like hte perfect flex too and the sidecut that allows for 1cm forward is sooo good.
^I'm with this guy. I got mine for $360 w/ bindings on ebay and i could not be happier. I think they would def. be worth paying full price for. Very well made and a nice stiff flex, this is such a snappy responsive ski. A great pipe and jump ski, even a great rip around everywhere ski because it has such a manly flex. If have to put some effort into the butters, but it pays off because you've just loaded up a monster spring board to jump off of.
i think its salomon Z12 B90s, and the scratches are 750 with binders (scratch binders i think, or Z12s). i also have the choice of the AR6 with binders, for 800 bucks, pretty sure its salomon Z12s too. i'll tell ya right now salomons arent even cheap in the states as i've seen so far, like 240 on sale for the Z12s at best, and that's in a package.
well the Dumonts are better skis by fare but there not reallt a better deal when it comes done to the price, but if you have the money and your willing to spend 900 over 700 well then get the dumonts
im lovin my scratches. 'specially their butterability. they're lighter than hell though im sure the dumonts r too. they pop like crazy and handle switch effortlessly. either ski would be a great choice
i dunno brah, i have yet to see weights measured for the scratches, but i know dumonts are the lightest woodies i've yet to see at 1600 g w/bindings i think. as soon as the spring break comes round i think im gonna be at sporting life pickin between teh two. any thoughts on armada ar6 vs dumont?
The Dumont is only 1600 grammes per ski for a 176 ski, which is amazing.
I weighed my unmounted Scratch FS WRS in a 167 and they came to 1650 grammes per ski. So the next equivalent size up (Scratc in 174) will be up to 200 grammes heavier than the Dumont!
The Dumont with a Z12 sounds a super light, killer combination.
^^^To add to that, if the Scratches come with Rossi/Look bindings, these will be 200+ grammes heavier than the Z12s. A Dumont/Z12 set-up would be about a pound lighter per foot than a Scratch FS WRS 174/Scratch binding.
