It just happens as you progress. One day you feel really confident and pumped, the next day you feel like you suck so bad. I don't know of anything to do about it. Just keep skiing and your confidence will come back. Don't worry about it.

dont hate on what im going to say.....
As wierd as it snounds, last season, I would imagine the voivce of mike douglas announcing the x-games. I could like hear him saying how the guys run ahead of me was strong, and i would need to throw down my best run ever. It got me pumped, adn i put the pressure on myself to try hard.

^^^ hey whatever works
just find something you know you can do and practice it until you are nailing it every time. then add something just a little different (AKA- if you can do 1's pretty well, add a small safety grab or something) Just keep progressing and the more you try the bigger your bag of tricks becomes.

oh ya, and don't forget why you ski in the first place:
Because its fuckin baller and snowboarding is just for gays. Just have fun.

Try to mimic someone elses trick, whatever it may be. You just got to grow some balls and try new shit sometimes, alot of the time you end up wrecking but just try and not wreck so it hurts badly. Do 3's off like little shit all day and then bring it to the park. Wrecking is gay for sure, but its part of the sport and usually doesnt really hurt that bad.

i dunno, i think everyone has up and down days but if you dont feel like youre progressing then just do something that you can do and is fun for a while, i spent most of today just straight jumping the same jump and seeing how high i could go, and it ended up being a great day because i was just having fun

and for the confidence thing i would just set realistic goals for every day youre out skiing and then it will feel good when you get them, even if it doesnt seem like anything big

basically this is the best remdy i've found...Watch LSS right before you go to sleep, the next day ride with music and just have fun for like 20 min doing stupid shit like 180's spread eagles and little grabs, then once your having fun with that shit just go for your new shit.

well, it's getting into feb. now, we are deep into winter. perhaps you could be burning out? i've had to take time off in the past to bring my head back. maybe you need to just take a week off skiing, go hang out with friends who don't ski and talk about real life stuff for a change.
skiing isn't the only thing in the world, if you lose sight of that then you could lose a lot.

Ski with some friends. Nothing pumps me up like some peer pressure to try something. Really, it works.

If uyou think you might be able to stick it, try it. he woprst that can happen is you fall. but if you stick it, or even get close, your confidence goes wayy up, and you have found something new to practice. Some tings are going to be scary, but you just have to man up and try stuff sometimes.

Ive eaten so many times this year, like last night i put my braces through both of my lips and it just sucks. But you just gotta stick small stuff, work on stuff your good at, and chill with ur friends, thats what i do, ohh yeah, and huge180's off natural features, seriusly , try that

werd.
Ski with a friend whois dope. Garanteed to fall at least 50% of the time, but the minute he's gone you'll realize how much you just accomplished, and realize what you just did would be a year away at your personal pace.

Yeah, I've been feeling this too lately. Nobody in my school skis park (cept for this one terrible kid), they'll all boarders, which is cool but gets boring after awhile. At first it was sweet because I felt like I was amazing because the other kid is terrible, but now I'm really wishing I had good people to ride with... So. Morale of the story ride with other skiers I guess...

get blazed and find your happy place always works for me. i think riding in a crowded park helps sometimes to feed off other riders but then again when people are waiting and wathching it sucks trying diff tricks\ having to collect your skis when shit goes bad

i agree. i really like hooking up with a random group of skiers that are throwing down and are super positive. they don't know how i ski but if i try something they'll keep pushing, and i keep trying. Also, when i get frusterated learning/geting better at a new trick (say a jump trick), start hiking a rail. It'll change your mind-set. if you can't do either, just take the day off, cause if you're too frusterated you'll just get hurt or bring your friends down. POSITIVITY IS KEY.

also, just when you land something that you were really iffy about trying otherwise, it fills you with stokedness... like, today i landed something i normally wouldnt have even tried if my friends werent so stoked on riding and like, the weather wasnt as good as it was...
so, try stuff, goof around, ride with happy people, land a new trick

come ski at my mountain, and watch 80% of the kids fall just hitting the jump onto a rail. Then realize that they're having more fun then you and you just need to dick around more, not care about what your doing, and have fun again. yelling off the chairlift always helps too.

oh man i feel exactly the same way. cept this is like my 5th year of riding park and im just not feeling it any more. I don't feel like crashing cause it hurts for weeks afterwards and i have no drive to progress to be any better. It really sucks, I need a pick me up on this sport.

also i always think to my self "whats the worst that could logically happen?" Also with music, th9ink of the music all around you, everybody can hear it, and they are just as stoked as you. Just go for it.

i learned to warm up and lap the park a couple times at the beginning of the day. like throw some 1s or 3s on the jumps maybe slide one rail. or just do w/e you can. then go in to try new stuff.

I had the same problem as you. I could only do 180s. But then one day i just tried a 3, and i nailed it. Later the same day i did 540s.

Yeah music changes my mood so fast. Try putting something on that you want to feel. Like if i wanna go fast I listen to Dragonforce. Feelin like i just wanna throw down some rails I play some DL.

I felt the same as you in the beginning of the year...
I realized that I was trying to hard to get good and impress people rather than skiing for fun. Don't worry about getting better, pushing your limits, or trying to impress people. Just have a good time. Jump around screaming out kelly clarkson lyrics. jump on a box and start dancing around. go off a jump and grab your balls. Have fun!
And eventually you'll progress and get better. Don't worry. Have fun!
