well, I know 3's are nothing to most of you, but its my first time ever trying park, and my first year on twin tips. Ive got 143cm Line Chronics, Theyre a bit short on me, but ive always liked skiing on short ones. I can get decent air and clear decent size jumps. I can 180 really easy now, Ya i know its nothing, but hey its my first year and I gotta start somewhere,. Ive tried a few 3's off a small jump, and I got like 300 degrees, flailed like crazy and didnt land them, so Im gonna try again. Any tips on prewinding? How much air I need to be geting them? How many tries it took you to get them down? and how do you focus? Im not afraid of falling, but as I get up to the lip I just get nervous and forget what Ive been told and start to just like flail once I start going. Thanks, Ian

try to just huck it around on a roller to try and get a feel for it. ive been doing them forever but early this year i just couldnt get them very well (i was finding 5s much easier to get down) but i just kept doing them and doing them. eventually we got a bigger jump at strat and it was much easier for me, i dont know why but it was much easier to put them down right over my skis. you just have to practice, try carving them which helps sometimes for me. I also find its easier when i grab now but youre probably not at that point yet. just keep at it and it will come

Dont throw them too hard and dont spin too early. If it is over a 15 ft+ jump you shouldn't have to mega-huck yourself. Take it easy and let it flow.

Whatever you do, DO NOT use the search bar because there is nothing there that can help you.

shut up cant you see hes new?
First of all, you dont have to apologize for being a newb haha. The main thing is look over your shoulder the whole time. Youll land backseat first but just maybe visualize it without your skis on. Itll start coming naturally to you after like 10 tries. Dont get scared and fully commit and youll do it. On my first try i actually overspun.

keep a wider stance up to the lip then close it up after you po. then turn your head and keep your hands forward.

Ya i dont care if I flail like mad, lose a pole, break my legs and land backseat, I still think it would be sick to get one down. Then I can work on making them pretty. I actually find it easier for me to get air well when I try a grab, because it gives my arms something to do so the dont flail. That will be something to work on later.

its all about using your shoulders/upper body. i don't really even find any prewind is necessary at all. just turn your upper body, your skis will follow.

go really fast... stand up as straight as possible, stick your arms straight out to the side...wind up REALLLLLY hard and throw it while leaning back... u should stomp it first try and if u dont get atleast one "sick" from the lift, then those people just dont appreciate good style when they see it...

You body will follow your head. Remember that.

You dont need that much air. I can do them with bout a foot of air now, but i weigh 95pounds and can spin fast. All you have to do is commit, do it off a biggish jump so you dont have to throw as much, keep looking around with ur head and practice when ur not on ur skis.

If you're ot flailing, you'll spin smoother and faster, so try to reach down for a grab (e.g. safety) even if you don't actually get the grab. That was the big part for me...

nothing on the internet is going to help you. Just go out there and take a beating and learn it for yourself. I fell the first 3 time a tried it and got the fourth.

okay well, most of these people are telling you to just huck it, don't. If you just huck you will throw yourself off balance, and land backseat. come into the jump with, i'm gonna do a list,
1. Come into the jump with your legs shoulder width, and even pressure on both legs.
2. You don't really even have to wind, set your spin with you entire body, not just your arms, and POP! Please pop, if you take anything from this POP, it will make it possible.
3. Once your nearly off the lip, remember to be patient with your spin, so you don't catch your tips on the jump.
4. Now that your in the air, keep your vision up, try to spot something back up the hill at 180. Your body will follow your head, if you look down you will go off axis.
5. When you start to come around spot your landing and land, look up at the horizon to keep balanced.
Hopefully you have just landed your first clean 360, jump around and do a little dance, feel free to elaborate on this step.
Good Luck
