Ontario Freestyle Championships at Fortune

Camp Fortune is once again hosting the Ontario Freestyle Championships. Big air is Saturday, Feb. 17, and moguls are Sunday, Feb. 18. Check out http://www.ncdfreestyle.com/news.html for the details and to inquire about participating, or get a schedule to come out and watch. There's a Feb. 10 deadline for registrations, but I am confident it's a bit flexible.

Big air was built Thursday morning on Clifford skier's right. We didn't have a ton of snow to make it perfect, but it's not bad.

For anyone that is interested, results and a short news blurb are are on www.ncdfreestyle.com. Just go to the News and Results pages.

Honourable mentions go out to a few skiers. Bryan Snow stomped one of the sweetest fakie rodeo 7 mutes I've seen in a while to win the juvenile mens big air. Bryan also stomped a fakie rodeo 5 in the bumps. Mack Jones was a close second in big air with his cork 7 truck driver. Also of NCD on the podium was Max Morello, taking home the silver in youth mens big air. Cameron Marcus also had a solid weekend in both big air and bumps. Jamieson Irvine of the SOR freestyle team also deserves mention -- this kid is 11 years old and absolutely kills it in big air and bumps.

I have also spoken with a couple people at Fortune, and the plan right now is to KEEP the big air, but move it over a little so it's not taking up so much of Clifford. You can thank the Ontario Freestyle Championships' sponsors for the $$$$ that was paid to blow all that snow for the big air.

went yesterday jump was pretty nice but the landing was a bit icy but it is the east coast.
