The pros use the 916, which is a different world from their normal stuff.
The ti bindings have the same amount of plastic in them, but some of the interior metal is titanum instead of steel. The only thing saved is weight.
I have blown out of my FIS 914s a couple of times when I shouldn't have. I still prefer the Scratch 140s from two years ago (turntable heel), which I have on my park and urban skis.
