yea some majors require a high GPA to get in or maintain, and then continuing on in something like grad school requires a good GPA

the way I see it, the only place that college gpa matters is going into grad school. as long as you get a degree you are fine if you just want to get a job

pretty damn important. If nothing else you can get tons of scholarship money and then you don't ahve to pay for school and in some instances the school will pay you to attend and continue a high GPA.

it depends if you're going into graduate school or not. grad schools stress a high GPA but if you're going into the workforce after getting your degree then they usually wont ask about your college GPA. they just see that you have the degree and they're happy. like the saying goes: "A's may get paid but C's get degrees."

high gpa's do not equal high income.

GPA is about as important as SAT/ACT scores are in most schools. Depending on the size of the school, the two can matter more or less than your essay/personal statement. But no matter the school, standardized test scores and GPA's will be weighted about evenly.

they may not equal high income, but they sure as hell help. Many high quality firms won't even give out interviews if you don't have a certain GPA, many as high as 3.5. Now, if you have great extra-curricular activities you may be able to slide in, but I wouldn't want to risk missing out just because you didn't try and get good enough grades.

im not saying you shouldnt try, but it is just a misconception that high gpa is your key for high income. there are a lot of millionaires out there that have average gpa's.

Not important, nor should they ever be important. GPA is such a load of shit. You think because you get a 4.0 in business, you're gonna be able to market anything, or in engineering, will be able to build anything? No. Fuckin stupid GPAs.
Like said, unless it's for grad school.
