I might move to Denver, CO

Like 2 months ago, my dad got contacted from some company in Denver for big bills. Like 1 week ago he flew out there for like an interview and all that shit and I guess it went well and they really want him. So my parents were talking tonight and we are really considering moving and they want my input. I have mixed feelings on this because, yeah I would be skiing the dopest mountains, but I don't think I'd be able to leave my friends, girls, school, everything all behind. I love Boston and I'm really not sure what to do.

You could easily make a new life in denver, that place is huge. And boston skiing < colorado skiing

how old are you, if your going to collage soon you will probably lose
most of your old friends to different universities/collages so go! You
have the chance to ski greatness take it, you will make new friends and girls come and go.

I would say sophmore year would be hard to move during but it wouldn't be like junior or senior year, at least you would have time to make new friends, as far as the skiing goes yea it would be way better but also look at the frequency you would be skiing, I don't know how much you ski now but think about whether it is more or less then you would be if you go there

It would definatley be tough for a few months meeting new people and a new crew to ski with, but think about how much you could ski, the gnar terrain, and how much you would progress. if it were me, i would definatley consider the move a good one. i guess thats why im gonna be in boulder next year...

It would be hard, but well worth it in the long run. If you really like boston that much, you could always come back for school. It's better now that your a sophomore rather than a junior or senior. you'll miss a lot of friends, but im sure you would make new ones quick and you will still be able to see your older friends once in a while.
it wont be easy, but just think of all the epic pow days you will have and that you'll be living in one of the best places to live in the US.
and youll make new friends so you can have 2X the MYSPACE FRIENDS AS BEFORE OMGZZ
I'm goin out there for college next year (either CU or DU) and im coming from boston, but im so excited I would leave now if i could

I'd definately say go for it. You have junior and senior year to make new friends and shit. Better skiing overrules leaving behind friends.

As an east coaster, Denver is chill, but it gets kinda old fast. The summers aren't that great. You have the ocean and such it's all personal preference but I like the East.

denver has DANK bud and DANK skiing
and i'm guessing by your icon and being on ns you like both of them
and those are two things that its easy to make friends by doing

do it. so close to such sick skiing, you could join a dank ski team, and if you went to cherry creek, that would be pretty kickass too. do it

i have moved 9 times in my life and i can say its not hard to make new friends. hard to leave, but easy to cope. plus CO skiing is like the best you can ask for. denver is about an hour from breck as well, and much less to some other resorts. west kicks east ass, i have done both

yeah, new friends are easy to find man. just make sure to keep in touch with your old ones and go visit once in a while. youll see its not that bad. plus moving is pretty fun, well in my opinion atleast. you get to start over fresh and brand new, find new places to chill and all that shit.

i had same exact experience, but i was a freshman instead of soph, and i moved to steamboat springs, co instead of denver, co.
fucking move.
where you live now, sure you have all of your friends. thats probably the only thing you will miss, and you can make new friends. then again i did move from a small town, but still. colorado is the shit, you wont regret it.

maybe im just fanatical about skiing, but i had no problems picking up and leaving to SLC i fucking love it here, the skiing is so worth it, even if i didnt have one friend in the valley what goes on in the mountains makes up for everything.
sure i rode by myself for like what... a month? then i was shralping with cool dudes.
2 weeks into SLC i had friends and sick mountains.
fuck boston CO is where its at my friend (if your serious about skiing, which i dont see how you could be on this site and not go bonkers for skiing)

it all comes down to what kind of person you are. I'm the type of person that has a lot of friends, but if tomorrow they were all gone and I never saw them or my family again; i'd be fine. I mean i'd miss them, and the familiarity, but i'm a very independent type person. I love the school I'm at right now, and have met a ton of cool people, but if I could move out CO or UT and it wouldn't cost me anymore than I'm paying now; i'd be there in a second. It's all about what's important to you. This could be a great opportunity for your parents, and for you to get to ski some amazing terrain. but if skiing isn't THAT important to you then that's understandable. Boston is cool too.

seany if you move to Denver, I might go to Boulder for school next year, so then you'll have at least one friend out there.
I say go. you're a nice enough kid to be able to make new friends easily. plus, any skiing out there is better than what we have here. and Denver's fun... it's no Boston, but it's still a cool place.

well i dont understand how youve gained friends here, so i really doubt you'll be able to make some out there..
just kidding man, you should totally do it. it would be a nice change of pace, you'll actually have snow! plus, you can always come back home and visit to shred the ice here on the east coast, if you really think you'll miss it that much. im quite jealous actually, i'd totally move out there in a heartbeat! do it!

yeha but it really doesnt matter, not to be a spoiled bitch but i can already get like whatever i want (grades permitting), but it would be sweet to sell my house for like 900,000 and get one twice as big for half as much, make my own park in the backyard
such a hard decision

i'm basically as close as you can get to boston without technically "being" in boston, such as brookline, hyde park, dorchester, southie, mattapan, all that, so yeah you can get alot, i think miltons like top 5 towns richest towns in MA with like brookline, weston, westwood, dux, and like 2 others
