marquette by far, nubs is ok and they have an incredible pipe, ripley usually has real nice jumps but really lack rails, bohemia doesn't have a park but is definitely the best backcountry you'll get in the midwest, most downstate(other then nubs and maybe boyne which are usually decent overall) usually have pretty small jumps but real nice rails.
beware of bohemia, unless conditions are prime that place blows big flappy donkey dick...marquette has been the best, but its kinda gettin the shaft this year
i'm gong to go out on a limb here and say Marquette has the best rails and jumps, nubs has the best pipe. But ripley is shaping up to be kick ass... Y'all best get out here for snow comp because ripley is going to be off the hook.
i was a little tentative about claiming marquette, but our jumpline got a facelift last night, and it is about 10times better than yesterday, and the lips/landings should be this good for the rest of the season. All new rail set ups will be up by this weekend for the camp, and they will be sick. So Im gonna claim MQT the best michigan park, and top 3 in the midwest. Ripley will be sick this year im sure, snocomp!
a little secret about marquette, the park doesn't change too much for superpark, it's always like that. so if you can't make it for superpark 4, come sometime sooner, it's sunny here everday in the spring.
the jump line at Nub's Nob is pretty dialed right now and their rails are pretty good, too. that along with the pipe make it worth checking out. the first jump is way too much fun.
not sure when it is, but yes, nate is running snocomp again this year, however it sounds like he's totally changing the format. this years everybodies gonna have bid numbers and its going to be totally rider judged jam format. so you just ride the park for an hour and then write down who you thought was killin it.
that would be tight, last year some of the organization just seemed too last minute and just kind of chaotic, I think rider judged would be a lot of fun
yeah that first step up is sooo fun but wasn't too impressed with the other jumps proley cuz it was slow that day and the s-box and s coaster are wack but the pipe was maad fun
Marquette is for sure getting shafted this year...Shelby leaving kinda sucks. But the park is getting better and as far as best in MI, its in contention but i dont know. Pine Knob is sick for sure i was there for a contest last year and it was pretty rad, plus with the tow rope on one part you can get some hot laps in. Nubs is sick too. But as for Marquette, wait till spring, that will prolly be your best bet.
marquette definitely has the best park in MI. there jumps are immaculate.
the best pipe has to be nubs tho. that thing is amazing.
nubs' jump line is pretty good too but marquette is better
true and i dont think that they are going to put the super park up at all this year.
i heard that their park expert went out to colorado to make jumps and such...that is what i heard...i do not know if it is true or not.
Yea, when I was there 2 weekends ago everything was perfectly built and maintained, the jumps just aren't as big and the line is shorter where they are now...but whoever took over for shelby is doing really well
word on the street is that they'll have a big step up for super park... and the only reason our jumps are smaller this year isn't just because shelby moved, but because we've had a lack of snow too... (until now of course)
