i dunno much about paintball but last year i tried to get started smart parts is a good brand but best and most reliable brand is tippmann its pretty cheap but evrythig on internet is cheap buy from ebay or a shop its more expensive but better products

Invest in a Smartparts ION. Fairly cheap and will kick the shit out of anything your friends have.

Im sixty dolars into it, and just looking to try the game out. I know that the gun is bottom of the line, but i just wanted something that would work for when i play on and off.

Then don't upgrade at all. Stick with what you have until you know you want to keep playing.

A victor will do you fine, but if you're going to plan on buying barrels for it, then you better make sure your next gun has spider threads...I can give you a list of better guns that use the Spyder threads.

Best gun you can buy for the money.

like 300ish, but definitely do not invest in an Ion if you have never really played. They use a special pnumatic system that can be a bitch to understand if you dont know what you are doing. The spyder victor is an Excellent starters marker, its completely mechanical (I believe) and is very easy to take apart, clean and maintain. There are a few upgrades that will Really help you out on the field.

The 2 main upgrades I would pursue would be a barrel and a hopper...didn't look at your links lol but there are a few good barrels that you may want to consider. Check-it products produces some nice barrels, the JJ ceramics barrel is also a very nice one to look at. The JJ barrel is made out of...ceramics...so if you chop a ball inside your gun (which splatters the insides with paint, makes it very hard to shoot accurately) it will almost clean itself out just by firing a few rounds through it. My personal favorite is the Dye Boomstick, the Ultralights are nice as well. They tend to be a little pricey but are worth it, the aircraft grade aluminum they are made out of is very nice because it is incredibly strong and very light. An ideal length of a barrel is 14-16 inches, any longer and there is useless friction slowing down your shots.

The 2nd upgrade you should look at is a hopper. The hopper is what holds your paintballs and feeds them down. My personal favorite is the empire reloader (i think thats what its called) it is sound activated so it feeds balls everytime you shoot, makes you chop much less and you can fire as fast as you can pull your finger pretty much. Others to look at would be a Halo reloader or an AK reloader I think, can't remember names exactly.

Other than that, most upgrades for a spyder dont do much. A nice anti-fog mask is also very helpful.

If you're just starting out, stick with the victor, then decide where you want to go.  Once you decide whether you want to pursue it or not, ask again.

touche, tho i haven't looked into paintballing since last summer and it was over 300 at its debut when i was considering getting one...but even so, unless you dont know what you are doing its way too advanced for a beginner.

sell the spider get a tippmann 98.. most relible out there.

look for a barrel at a pro shop.
cheap electro hopper if chopping is a problem.

its likely that if you are chopping balls in a spyder then you have a hopper or paint problem and not gun.
but yes tippmann 98s are the most reliable gun ever. ive seen some that shoot perfect but if you open them up they have 3 pounds of mud and rust on everything.
the only reason to be a different barrel is if the paint size you use is a lot smaller than your stock barrel.

check out actionvillage, and look at their spyder packages. they have a electric spyder for like 60 bucks. i have a smart parts progressive, its amazing. shoots pretty accurately, doesnt make too much noise. but its not a perfect barrel, so shots do sometimes curve but they stay in general direction. get a 14" or 16" if your gonna be doign long distance shooting. and if you get an electric gun make sure you get an electric hopper.

I used to play a lot of paintball and I was sponsored by my local shop so I've been able to use lots of different types of guns, barrels, etc. etc.. I assume you don't wanna spend much money so I'd go for a CP 1 piece, definately best bang for your buck. some people are saying Tippmans are best and most reliable and whatnot, thats BS they are alright starter guns that are reliable, that's it. Don't buy too much until you realize you like the sport. And as far as saying the most important upgrades are a hopper and a barrel, a regulator is also very very important, not so much on a victor but all other mid-high end guns have them. The barrels you listed are alright I have used progressives and they suck imo, CP makes a better barrel for around the same price.

if you don't wanna go all in then don't upgrade. if you ever do upgrade go with the tippmann A5. its fuckin badass and the gun is pneumatic so it never had a problem in 3 years. flatline barrel shoots straight for like 100 yards too.

A5's are decent (nothing more) the hopper is innovative but it is massive and if you play speedball you can't shoot out of one side of your bunker without being all exposed and shit (I'm assuming this guy is woods because of his flatline comment). As far as pnuematic, do you even know what that means? Flatline does NOT shoot for 100 yards, it does shoot slightly farther than other barrels but it puts massive amounts of backspin on the ball and they are almost impossible to clean.

Just play with your victor for a while then when you realize you want a better gun come back and ask then. Also you gotta figure out if you wanna go down the speedball or woodsball path (I suggest speedball) but that's just cause that's what I always liked to play, way more intense than woods imo. I know some people are gonna come in and say something like "it takes no skill to shoot 1500 balls a game" and shit like that. My response to them is go try to play with a tourney team, borrow a high end gun and use lots of paint, you will still get mowed.
