kicking horse and golden, BC

has anyone else ever been to kicking hore ski area in golden, bc.....well if you havent heres the stuff:
1. Second to whistler for most vertical in north america
2. no one is ever there
3. a simple duck of a rope and your on heli skiing property
4. Golden is a real cool town
5. Off the back ridge, tons of kickers are just lined up

been there. best out of homeplace skiig i have ever had. just fucking sweet pow and tons of it and stuff, awesome place

kicking horse is insane. the top bowls are so nice first thing in the morning (and through most of the day casue no one is ever there). If they wanted to expand, its sooo possible too, casue there is just bowl after bowl in both directions. u can slip the rope and hick over a bowl or 2 and still make it back to the main gondola. all they need now is a park and they would be set. but it is nice how it is 'unknown' for the most part so the pow is nice though most of the day

that would be cool, but two things suck
1. bowls in both directions are private heli-skiing only
2. kicking horse had barley enough money to buy more gondola cars this season.....so more people should go....i mean...no one should go

Yeah... Kicking horse is hella dope, just needs more people to get the place off the ground. Other BC places that are awesome yet still very uncrowded are: Fernie (obviously) and Powderking.

i went over to kicking horse the first year it was open. SICK terrain, brand new high speed gondola and EMPTY. i was there in the middle of a horrible snow year and found many fresh tracks, even some pow which incrdible considering how bad a year it was.

i leanred how to ski pow there...nothing like droping off lile 10-20 ft drops into pow. i never realized what the big deal was, now i know!

yea, stairway trees are wicked sick....but the traverse to get to them knocks the shit out of you, and your skis....its worth it though

its is amazing, 80 footer just meters from the gondola unloading station, then they got that little wedge beside the gondola which has the best mini chutes I've ever seen. Crazy drops, and always fresh tracks. Its awesome to stand on top of the stairway to heaven chair and watch people be dropped off by a helicopter like a 800 meters away from you and your skiing steeper deeper stuff then them. I wonder if they can hear us all laughing.

rex's mom used to own the roadhouse tavern in golden...the only strip bar...me and mauro were goin through there and stopped for fresh meat mondays...then they have sloppy second tuesdays...where the local chicks go if they need to make some dough...

We always stay in the Golden Rim hotel. heh heh 'rim'. One time we broke into the hot tub with my leatherman and partied with the lights out when we got back from the bar with these bitches that worked at Subway. we were coming back from the hill, we got some subs and I pressed my ass against the front window, Raab style. Then the girls that were working saw us at the bar and they were all over my johnson cuz I mooned them. yeah Golden rips.
