Give me a short list of things you think the US Gov't does well, and 5 things it does poorly. Not necesarly this current administration(could use if you want), but the gov't structure as a whole. Thanks.

For the USA...
Good:
Our constitution alone sets us apart from everybody else.
Freedom to do just about everything
Were well protected from any otuside threats
Were very wealthy compared to many places
Bad:
Billions upon billions wasted on grudges
Poor allocation of funding (if we used money we spent in Iraq, we could practically end hunger...)
Urbanization and/or sub-urbanization is ruining our natural beauty.

Nailed it
some people would disagree with poor allocation of funding but I agree that we could do more better things with our money.

1. Whats wrong with KFC they are one of the largest restruant chains on earth.
2. Pot is illegal, and i wish it wasnt, but i would hardly say thats a major problem with America
3. Yes it seems that the money should be spent elsewhere, like teaching kids how to type/spell
4. I wouldn't call us warmongers yet, we've only started one unjust war
5. There is a reason that there are reference to god in the pledge and on our money, and its because this country has been and still is predominatly Christian, i dont see how it is offensive.
1. The only role that the government should play in cracking down on childhood obesity is by serving healthy foods in school and better educating kids about nutrition, thats it though.
2. The US is one of the most free countries on earth, if you dont believe me go live somewhere else for a couple years.

I'm not a fan of the tax rate schedule. I think the upper middle class and those people on the verge of being wealthy get taxed far too heavily, when people who are truely rich are better able to shelter their money from taxes, by using the special rates on long-term capital gains. These "wealthy" people can also often time use their corporations to shelter their income, without much consequence. Like for instance, Warren Buffet gets taxed 15% a year, since he gets paid in dividends basically which only get taxed at 15% and he makes billions of dollars a year, while people making 200,000 a year get taxed at 35% and maybe more depending on alt. min. taxes and such. Thats kinda rediculous.

I also think it's fuckin bullshit that people spend two years of their first office of anything trying to get re-elected rather than focus on solving issues that they were elected to fix. I think thats totally fucked up. there should be tighter laws on how much they can spend. they spend outrageous ammounts now, 100 million dollar campaigns. wtf? why waste all that fucking money. if people are willing to donate it to a candidates cause then why not donate it to the government to fix problems. 100 million dollars could be much better spent.
also, i think armies should be for protecting the homeland. that way, in times of peace you can use them to build your country and help out in times of crisis (ie. Katrina) seriously, every major power in the history of civilization has fallen. What's the main thing that drives their falls? when they start trying to increase their borders. this idea of world supremacy, it's fucked. Rome fell, the Chinese Dynasties eventually fell, in world war two, when the borders were more accurately drawn, when germany overstepped those borders, it was ultimately leading to their fall. Every war since then, the United States has essentially lost or failed their primary reason for going. Vietnam was fucked up. and the Gulf war is debateable. Korea is totally fucked up now. And then Afganistan and Iraq. They're at a whole new level of disgraceful. I feel bad for the servicemen of our military, they're just taking orders. It's not their fault. And I want them to succeed. But success is going to have to be looked at a bit more leniently. If they can get out without destroying the stability of the entire middle east that will be success. But if they go and start fucking with iran, we're going to see a massacre of our troops. and then we'll be unprotected. because we've exhausted our troops, and we're stretched too thin. I won't be surprised if this becomes new china. fucking national debt.
lets get those marijuana legalization laws passed, we could pay off the debt in 10-20 years.

"Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this
world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or
all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of
government except all those other forms that have been tried from time
to time."

America wasn't meant to be a democracy, it was meant to be a republic, why do you think we have the electoral college and why do you think that up until the early 1900's we didn't directly elect our senators. If any country were a true democracy it would be completely fucked.

I just don't understand how any government can have a war on marijuana while allowing alcohol to remain legal. Its complete stupidity.

thats why presidents should be allowed to serve for only one term

i think two terms is ok, but re-election should be because the country is really appreciating what that president is doing, not because they spend 100's of millions campaigning. their actions in the world/homeland should reflect re-elections.
