also, from a female's perspective, if i was looking for coats or gear for next year and all i see is generic pretty girls, it definitely doesn't sell anything to me. it makes me think wow what a lame company why don't they get some girls who can actually ski to sell their shit, as a skier if i was going to base my choice of outwear on advertising (which i wouldn't but hypothetically) i'd definitely be more into a ad with a girl slaying an urban rail, than some chick standing there perfecting her "sexy" look.

Go talk to most of the companie's model, they have no idea whats going on in there, so if anything, we're more open to next door girls than most companies, so, think twice before you judge!

Exactly, we are being told here that hot girls do not represent the freeskiing demographic, but I think offering the opportunity to girls on here is a better representation of the demographic than doing like 90% of companies and hiring trade show models in agency, even the more "Core" companies do that... promo girls should promote what the company stands for. a good company stands for quality, function, style, and a passion for skiing. a bad company stands for being the hottest pro ho on the mountain. i know it's a little hard for you to take, but women don't exist for your eye candy. it's be smart from a business perspective to market and promote your product to the entire diverse group of people buying it. if you need pretty girls to sell your product and make it look good, than you have no product. if you have a mixed bag of girls it helps sell your shit because the other heavier girls see it and think hey at least this company doesn't deny the existence of girls who aren't pretty, and hey she looks good, maybe i could pull that off.

^NO smart distributer would ever strike up a wholesale contract with a company because there promo girls are hot. distibuters go to shows for the reason of supply and demand, and i would be willing to bet money a lot of people at trade shows would respect a company willing to use some more realistic models for their outwear. there's a reason why plus size models not only exist, but are becoming more and more popular in magazines, on runway, hell they even have mannequins that are various sizes and races.

you have no basis for your come back, did I say that he would strike up a whole sale deal becasue of a promo girl no i didnt, I said iut would influence him to do so becsaue he is having a good experience dealing with set company weather it be a promo girl a sponsored athlete or a sales rep any postive experience that a shop owner has with a company will effect what he thinkgs of that company and how much he buys. Hey, its marketing 101, to sell your product, you need to make it look good. Producers don't expect shops to pick up their products just because they have hot promo girls, but face it, having attractive women around your product could increase the amount of potential buyers who look at it. You still need a good product, but you also need to promote it. Face it, we live in a patriarchal society and men are attracted to sex and are more likely to be the ones buying at the show. You should be happy that germo is on here looking for real skiers rather then going to some modeling agency...

yeah, i represent the huge group of people in this sport who want good product, good prices, independent thinkers, and less textbook marketing tactics, and contracted promotion models who have never clicked into a pair of skis in their life. i do think it's good that germo came here to look for girls, but in my opinion he's only halfway there. i want a company that is confident enough with their product that they don't feel a need for hot promo girls, free keychains, and all the other fluff that they use to get more $$$$$$
