depends what kind of riding you're gonna do, well for me it does anyway... if i'm in the park i like some hip-hop or rock or something (wyclef, talib kweli, damian marley, rage against the machine, J5, technique, etc...) but in the rare event that i'm riding pow (not by preference but b/c i live in NY) i'll listen to some more mellow stuff (OAR, citizen cope, maybe some DMB) that sorta thing, it's all personal preference...
