no way. the flex in those boots are horrible. they flex a bit, then have a distinctive "wall". thats just asking for shinbang. any three piece shell boot from dalbello will help (lots of diff sizes/widths, not just kryptons).

spk, most comfortable boot ever with the perfect balance between being soft enough for park, but stiff enough for big mountain

well boster straps are a cheap option but when you get your next boots actualy go to a bootfiter, who will find the right boot for your foot and lower leg, and then do little things to help. there is no one boot that will do it for everyone, you need to get the one that is right for you.

nope. the spks are garbage, they are so soft your shin splints will just get worse. get foils, they are perfect for everything. you wont regret it.

shin bang made me a snowboarder for most of my first season of ski bumming. then i went and spent tons of money to get a boot totally custom fitted by a professional with his own boot-fitting shop. he used dalbello 3 piece shells, and his own custom liner and footbed. this has basically eliminated my problem.
if you don't have money for that, realize that the 3rd buckle (on a 4 buckle boot, up from the toe) is by FAR the most important one, that guy's gotta be totally tight when jumping. I notch mine up one when i enter the park.
my foot is a 11, but i have a skinny lower shin, so no off the shelf boot would really work to fit my foot, and be tight around my ankle/lower shin.

i figure i might as well offer something here besides ridicule.
shin bang can be caused by a few things:
too much gapping on the shin
too stiff a boot
poor flex point (depends on individual)
saying that there's one boot that will cure shin bang for everyone is false advertisement. there is no such thing as a boot for everyone, period. so STOP saying shit like "get these, they are the best boot ever!
even trying to recommend a boot over the internet is garbage, because you don't know shit about their foot, ankle or leg shape, or how good a skier they are.
to the creator of this thread, i suggest you take your boots, go to your local shop, and ask them to check it out for you. the worst outcome could be that they recommend a new boot for you, which will probably be the best thing you could do for your skiing.
and just to clarify, i work for a ski shop, so i'm not spewing shit out of my mouth

it depends on what kind of foot you have like wide or narrow you should go to a ski shop and get it measured and they will tell you your ideal boot.

I'll second that, I have the Diablo flame and it definitely gives me worse shinbang and more often than any other boot I've had. Like a few have said, get fitted for a boot to see what'll work for you best, with that said though, 3-piece boots tend to have the best design as far a flex and the boot having a place to deflect energy to in hard landings, they some Dalbello's, and Flexons/Fulltilt boots to see if they fit your foot, those are definitely a nice flexing boot that will help prevent shinbang.

i have the nordica supercharger boots and they're pretty good for me...i'm guessing we have different size feet and what not but u should go to a shop and test um out and see if you like them. But no matter what you're always going to get shinbang. So try a booster strap and some good ole bengay won't hurt eitehr
