Why does the Badlands Park (Blue Mountain) suck?

I have become a regular at night because of my 5X7 pass. I ski the park a lot.
I dont get it, they have great jibs, well done jumps and really cool people to keep it nice. Then why is it alway fucking icy. Why dont they groom the park in the afternoon so that other can enjoy it.
Fo example, I took a big hit and I saw blue ice in the landing. Whats up with that?

basicly all the snow at blue is manmade. man made snow is different than real snow. it takes a while to groom the park and doing it in the middle of the afternoon when the park is the busyest so that a relativly small amount of people have a nice park at night would just be silly.
when the snow is well used it turns into sugar, it doens't bond. at night this sugar snow becomes completely useless. you can take snow away from jumps and landings, but it's extremely hard to build something with your shovel at night because it is sugar on ice.

Were I used to ski, the park was groomed 2X a day, it didnt take all that long, 10 minutes and they alway redo the hits and not the jibs.
I know that blue is known for its great icy conditions but its been snowing a lot. For some reason, the snow its the ground. then pushed down.
I just find this ice (created by newbs) dangerous and takes the fun out of the park.

uhhhhhhhh
first of all man made snow varies a lot depending on the conditions and how it is made, as does natural snow. and none of it is the same.

Yeah there definitely is. Natural snow is in the shape of a traditional snowflake, manmade however, is that of a sphere.

all i have to say is go to le relias, last time i was there... they ran cats through the park everyday at like 4 for the night. no congestion, all you need is a couple of ski patrol to say, sty the fuck out.

I really did not feel like but going into detail but yes, once it starts to melt or compact, that is where the real difference lies.

it's too much hassel to groom the park during the day. to bring in a groomer they would need to close the park and remove the fencing to get the groomer in. another reason for the ice is the moisture content in the snow; at night when the temperature drops, everything gets hard and icy.
this is why night riding sucks!

the parks pretty steep and cramped so everyone puts on the brakes like mad between jibs.
any soft snow is plowed away and youre left with ice

10 minutes to groom a park. HAHA
From my experience, park operators definitely have way too much cat time on their hands and can spare an extra groom in the afternoon

Disagreed.
It shows that people aren't using the park for full runs and are just sessioning one feature.

If you ride well and are confident and comfortable with all the jibs, Blue's park has mad flow. This being said, so many rookies (skiers and boarders) aren't comfortable with flowing through the park and insist on stopping and setting-up camp above each feature creating maaad mogul fields and bomb-holes. The flow is there, the skill, is not.

I always go at night, its there were the conditions are really icy.
But sometimes flow is not always what we need. People love to chat and wait for each other after each hit. So sometimes flow isnt always great.
