so i did a backflip yesterday and i totaly landed wrong and the break popped out of the binding, which is the solomon 810s. my skis still work fine, and the only thing wrong with it is like theres a metal piece that i cant slide the break into becuz its tight. is it broken or should i just bring it to the shop and tell them to fix it?
my brakes come off everytime I go skiing, I just mash them back into place. When I took them to the shop they said I was "abusing" my skis. The best solution is to have good bindings (aka NOT markers)
the ski binding was never designed with heavy switch landings in mind. i break soooo many brake plates each year. luckily i get them fixed for free (friends in high places).
if the mechanism is broken, its going to keep happening and ul prob start getting prereleases - best to get it replaced.
Your right man. Def. not marker bindings. i cant tell you how many breaks i have broke off of mine. you would think that the marker freeride bindings would be good for that type of skiing but they def are not.
im not sure exactly what happened to yours, but i have those bindings and there was a little metal tab that got bent on both bindings which made the brake and heel piece too loose. i just took it to a shop and they replaced the heelpiece for free. the guy made it sound like it happens a lot with the 810s. my bindings work fine now though
