i landed my 1st 7 yesterday, but it wasn't stylish at all- i was tryin to bring it around instead of tryin to stay compact..the 2nd time i tried for a grab but couldn't keep my balance and opened up and did like a 600 where i landed on my ass....other people said just to keep practicing and get used to doing the spin..is that the only way or is there a better, faster, less painful way to stay compact and get the grab??
well alot of mistakes people make with throwing grabs in with bigger spins is grabbing before spinning and then your whole spin gets ruined. so what you want to do is spin like you would to do a 7, then at a 180 grab your skis, but i would get down the spin everytime then start to put a grab with it.
You prolly did it on too small of a jump. A 35 or 40 footer is prolly the right size to do a 7 grab. Cause then you are less worried about getting it around and can just steeze it out
wen doing graps i throw harder so that i can grab all the way through while still coming around, so try throwing almost like ur gonna do a 9 and your grab should slow u down a bit
