i know i always talk about whiteface shit in this form but once the pipe is open its gunna be sick, im guessing middle of next week. The one wall they have pushed up is HUGGGE the same size as it was when they had it for the world cup last year. today they had 3 cats working on pushing it up. Ill try to take a few pictures tommarow
whitefaces pipe should be no joke this year... more groomers, they claim its going to be maintained and in tiptop shape all the time, cant wait, overall mtn was decent saturday, park is small... hopefully get some larger hits somewhere...
ya, park is kinda flat, I have a hard time getting enough speed for the last jump to do anything nice. Plus the conditions change so everytime I go it takes me a few tries to get the speed dialed just right. Aaron should just make the first hit a lot larger since there is plenty of an inrun to it. I always like he first jump in the park the most, haha.
Sick, yea aaron and crew have been doing a great job, I mean from where whiteface has come from, they got it alright... I wish the first hit could be a nice 45 step down, if you made it bigger you could also make the second hit bigger... carry more speed, I overshot the last jump... but you're right, if you want to hit the battle box you prolly wont have enough speed for the last hit, they should put it a lil further down the hill, what does everyone look like, I'd like to ride with some new ppl sometime... Ive got a brown coat, black helmet, green crowbars, 179 PEs that are the black and gold ones...mojo boots
the only problem with the park crew is that they arnt creative, how many years have they had a hip at or near that location now? The step up (second table on brookside) is kinda pointless idk about you guys but anything more than a 3 seems kinda pointless over it, the space could be used much better. The last table being the biggest on the mountian is just stupid. Try to do anything but straight line into it and your screwed. If they were to make a 2 or 3 jump line on threway with 45-50 foot tables the mtn would be one of the best on the east for everything. It already has some of the best (hardest) riding on the east and they park staff deffanatly has the potential to really step it up. Props to Aaron and dave and the rest of the park staff for getting done what we have now the park really does have a good flow if you just ride though it they just need to step up a few things.
I hear you on the hits especially. The second hit is so shitty if you don't land just right on the first one then you won't make it over the step up and if you have too much speed you'll most likely die a painful death. I don't care if we only had one hit, but make it a solid 50 feet with a wide kicker an even wider (and longer) landing. I'll hike a nice hit all day if it lets me spin 7s without having to force it.
thats tru... the first hit could stand to be wayyyy bigger considering the speed you can carry, and the flow is kind of dry... I liked the 3 jump line last year on the trail next to brookside... altho it was much too flat, but if you could carry speed it was ok... I wish I lived closer to waterville right now...
i havnt been to whiteface since about a month ago and there wasnt really a park like it was so shitty i could consider it a park, if you know what i am talking about all there was, was a 7ft flat box. But i am thinking of coming out in a week or 2 so how is the park. What rails are up and boxes and also how big are the jumps any 35 to 50ft jumps?
haha, the pipe though... is HUGE Its got to be taller than 18... probably in the 20-22 range. It isn't cut real smooth yet but when it is it should be nice, although we gotta talk to them about their contract with straightline rails, I am not impressed with the size of their jibs, or overall quality...
the official height of the walls is 22 feet, its pretty huge and if u have the nuts u could throw some really really crazy shit cuz first hit i definitely went 7 or 8 feet out without spinning and that was with kinda a speed check and stuff
up box, up rail, to 15ft straight rails, C rail, S rail, massive wall-ride, 2 flat boxes, battleship box, flat-down-flat rail, rollercoaster box, a 6ft small box, and i think thats it..
i want to get up there soemtime before the season ends, i wanted to enter the slopestyle sat, but my bro has to work so no ride, sunday he deff wont drive me up there, plus gores supposed to get quite a bit of snow, so id rather hit up trees at gore than whiteface's park or pow any day. next sunday i think im going to be at okemo, but if i dont get off the waiting list, i might try to get up there. last i was there was feb break, and their pipe was pretty much a shaped ice cube though
i might end up coming down on the 18th of april if they are still open. my first choice is tremblant and they say they are closing on the 17th and stowe is kinda looking good
