anything around the house i could use as a substitute for wax? im skiing tomorrow and want to "wax" my skis overnight, but i lost my wax...idk how, but i cant find it anywhere - desperate for a good wax too, any ideas open
supposedly pine sol works....BUT ive heard it only lasts for 1 run and dries out your base prety bad....i wouldnt use it but if you are that desperate go for it
its not worth risking some chemical that could fuck your bases up...just wait til you get to your hill tomorrow and buy some rub on wax at their shop....
I've never waxed my skis, and I usually use them the entire year. I don't really care if they're not as fast as someone elses, if I wanted to go really fast, I'd race.
so i waxed my skis with a very small amount of wax, melted it on, ironed it, and scraped it off, but he bases are still sticky and feel like wax is still on ( they are not smooth ) - how do i get excess wax of after i already scraped using an edge?
That's actually really bad for your bases. Not waxing them will alow them to dry out and possibly warp. If you put a flat file across them does it even touch the edges anymore?
yes, its bad. someone i knew put it on their board and it messed up his base and he couldn't move at all. He had to take it into a shop to get it fixed.
