Alright, I got a letter in the mail today about a baseball program. Telling me i have potential to play at a D1 school. This program takes the 90-100 best underclassmen players in my state, and we play in a 78,000 square foot dome. College coaches come and look at u and what not. Basically But my problem is, there is a meeting this saturday, and i always go skiing fridays and saturdays, and now becasue of this shit i cant go, and same for the next 3 saturdays after this. I had an arguement with my parents about this, because I really do not wanna do this because it will take away from my skiing time, and here in NJ we dont have a long season. They are telling me i have my priorites all mixed up, and that i should really focus on college now. And i told them i just wanna have fun. And basically my dad is making me do this. I cant go skiing on sundays becuase i have baseball workouts for my HS team then. So basically, what does NS think i should do? Hwat should i say to my parents?

fuck your skiing kid. you have an incredible talent (...baseball) which can get you into much better colleges. if you choose to go skiing (which you can do whenever you want) over this great oppurtunity (which... you cant) then you are a fool. skiing is fun, but seriously, you need to get your priorities straight. get into a better college, then go skiing.

well think of it this way..
you get into a good college and get good grades, your parents will be so pleased they will let you go out west for a ski trip..
if i were you i would probably give up a couple skiing days to get into college.

the thing is, i dont "love" baseball enough to want to play in college, and baseball seaosn starts in 29 days from now!! and i only have a few more weekends left to go skiing, so i got about 5-8 more days left to go

do you want us to tell you to go skiing so that you dont feel shitty about it. think about it, if you go to the baseball meeting, ur gonna be set for college, but if you go skiing, ur gonna have one fun day... maybe its nj which isnt really special. it is an honor to be invited to these things, and its gonna be a huge bummer down the line to let this opportunity go

if you think youre gonna do baseball for a living then do it, if you dont want to do basball for a living (and i dont think you do because you said you dont enjoy it) then just do whatver you want. if baseball can get you into a better college than the ones you apply for then just try it. if i was you i wouldnt do it because i dont care about what college i go to, i just wanna go to any decent college with good skiing i dont even care what i do wen i grow up, ill live in a 2 room apartment and wash dishes but as long as if i get to ski a lot then im fine with that, the only thing im kinda worried about is if im too poor to even start a family or something but chances of that happening are very slight

yeah, in the long run, 3 days is nothing. It might seem like a lot just because it's nearing the end of season, but come on, you've got the rest of your life to go skiing, dont waste this opportunity. If this works out well, you could find yourself with a full paid scholarship to a good college. Compare that to 3 days skiing, it's not much of a contest.

skiing will always be there. (except for when global warming really takes over)
college show case for baseball is pretty much a one shot opportunity.

dude just ski cuz if you gave a shit about baseball you wouldn't be stupid enough to throw away a chance at a d1 school just for some shitty east coast skiing.

yeah definatly do the baseball thing, cause if your really good and maybe go pro, you'd be loaded and could have like 8 houses at 8 different mountains and since pro baseball is a summer sport you could ski all winter, that would be a baller setup

Why dont you go to one baseball meeting, and see how you stack up? What if you suck compared to all the other awesome people that show up and you know you wont have much of a chance. Then go skiing if that happens, but if not at least you gave it a shot in the first place.
