BINDING HELP???

K so here's my dilema...
I have had the Salomon S912 Ti bindings the last 2 years since I started skiing, in the last 2 weeks have successfully broken both pairs that I owned. I was told to send them in for warranty inspection but don't think I wanna rock these bindings anymore. The plastic on the heal piece broke on both sets and I snapped the metal strip in the bottom on 1 pair.

I'm looking for a bindings that has a really high DIN setting cuz I don't like coming out and am checking out the Salomon S916, S920, Rossignol FKS 185, or maybe some of the new Fischer ones? Anybody know anything about these bindings and which ones will hold up the best if I just beat the shit out of them? I do alot of my riding backwards and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the heal piece breaking or not... and nose press butters.

PLEASE HELP ME OUT???

fks series are the best bindings. in my opinion

well shit how much do you weight and how hard do you ski? Rossi FKS bindings are a good way to go, whether it be FKS 120 (with good toe), 155, or 185. But do you need the 185? thats the question. s912's are, um, pretty damn inferior to say a FKS 120, even though the din is the same, so don't let a bad experience with those bindings make you believe that you have to get top of the line/super high din bindings, because you probably don't need it.

But overall, I'd go with Rossi FKS, and which one depending on your weight and ability, or Look race stocks (same thing, except on a p18 available).

You should be able to find FKS 155's for $190 and 185's for $200-210 right now.  I haven't heard a lot about the 916's (nothing bad though), but you'll be paying more for a set of those.

I rode the Salomons cranked all the way up and still came out alot that's why I want a higher DIN seting... I've heard that Rossi is the best bang for my buck from alot of people. What makes the Rossi bindings so much higher quality even though they are significantly cheaper than Salomons?

Oh yea.... I weigh about 200 pounds and most of my friends say I ride pretty hard.

well to start with you get steel construction. Then with the turntable, you have no slide on the heal to let you toe release when alot of pressure is applied back on the heal. I like the 120 because of the upward releasing toe, but if you really think you need the super high din, then go for it.

i have a pair of 912's and a pair of axials, and i have found that the axials do just fine with the foreward pressure set correctly, however, the 912's i found that they dont blow out as much with the foreward pressure set a little higher than it should be. Call it not safe, but they still release when they should, and stay on when they should. I too would reccomend teh FXS's or older axials with the pivot heel, the new ones dont have the pivot, so if you land a little bit off, your more likely to blow out, where the pivots give you a slight chance to recover before they release

ya i hear alot of trash about the 912. i have them but so far so good. thank god. go with fks.

If you are looking at fischer bindings you should know that tyrolia makes them, so they are essentially the same. Kind of like some of the "new" atomics are made by solly.
