as crappy as shoulder surgery has been, it's given me a lot of down time to save money. i need to get some new skis for next season.
6'1" 175 lbs expert and pretty aggressive but my thighs definitely don't resemble tree trunks.
i'm currently on 180 MSP's. These have been good to me but they get a little choppy in the crud, and dive in the pow when i pick up speed. they're being retired to light rock and rail duty. i was also on elizabeth's last season, and those kicked ass in the trees and in fresh pow, but i had to sell them to help the surgery fund, and i couldn't charge jackshit on them anyway because they were so turny and floppy.
these will be my all around ski, i still have my msp's for rock skis but these will be what i use in pretty much every condition. i ski mostly powder/trees/steeps, like to haul ass on groomers, and i would like to use them for jumps in the park now and then, but no rails (rails cause shoulder surgeries). i'd like them to be decent switch as well. it needs to charge through crud, but not be completely unforgiving and still manageable in tight spots. basically got it narrowed down to these:
-Gotama. this has been the one i've been leaning towards because i can proform it, but i don't know whether to go with the 183 and mount back, or the 190 and mount slightly more progressive.
-VCT. i really like 4frnt, but i can't proform these and they're expensive as fuck otherwise. also same dillema as gotamas with the length.
-Prophet 100. seem like what i'm going for dimension wise, plus i can probably proform these as well. i've heard they ski nice too.
any other suggestions welcome.
