Yes the founder of Oakley started it.
People WILL buy a 30K camera. If the camera actually does what it says it does 30 grand is a sweet deal. Normally cameras of that quality go for over 100 grand.

haha yeah compared to how much Hollywood 35mm or digi camera setups cost, $20,000 is fucking cheap. Thats why theres so much buzz about it, because if somethat that good can cost "only" $20k then it is a revolutionary step in the filmmaking industry.

yeah if the camera actually is as il as they say (which i have a hard time beleiveing) then 20k is a bargain. but ill beleive it when i see it, all ive seen so far is a few pictures

may not have been the owner, but The Camera was started by someone at Oakley, and it was someone pretty high up, so regardless of who it was, the start of the camera was by someone that is or was at oakley

i duno im all for that camera. it seems pretty fuckin qual for 20k. general professional 35mm film cameras are far more expensive and bulky. the red cameras are more portable and didnt sacrifice quality for its conveniency
