yo, so i was wondering if anyone here is going to be at their concert at Mann performing arts center on the 21st, i cat wiat, its going to be amazing. i had a ticket last year but couldnt go so im extra stoked this time. and if you havent picked up jacks new cd its amazing, so chill and it never gets old just like the last one. peace.

Ben Harper sold out bigtime buy touring the Jack Johnson.
Me: Yeah, all the hicks and stuff in are school make in the hallway its gross.

How did going with Jack make him sell out? Its seems to me Jack would be one of the last people in the industry to sell out. What with his love of music/surfing/filming and all.

I posted this on another thread but yeah if you get the chance go and see them, I saw them here in Adelaide (Australia) back in April and it was such an amazing night. They are both so god. Ben is a lot better because of his vast variety but you can't beat Jack's laid back style. Your right about his new CD you can just keep listening and listeing to it coz its just so chilled.
Don't think you can say they have sold out, I mean everyone has to be signed to a record company don't they!?!? Its tru Jack's become a bit popular with some 'teeny boppers' but I'm sure he hates them just as much as the rest of us! They're certainly not in it for the money, they're so down to Earth.

jack johnson is mainstream.
i like jack johnson but it pisses me off that BEN HARPER is actully PLAYING AT THE FLEET CENTER...mind selling the fleet center out in a matter of days. Man, harper on his last tour played MOSTLY small places, and it seemed sooo sweet. I don't wanna see a guy who likes small crowds playing at the fleet center. Same goes with jack johnson. i like both of them, i just don't like the places they are touring, the crowd they will attract(teenage girls who will like one song.)

i dont see how he is mainstream. SO he's sold a lot of cds, he;s not like the musicians you see getting mainstream attention.

I guess you make a good point about large venues but then again I think this is just because they are now more popular. If they just played small venues they'd have to do shows non stop 24hrs a day to meet demand or else just hike up prices for tickets. Ben sounded ok in a large venue with the new band but Jack and Ben's acoustic numbers definately need small venues.
